Rashida Jones, Will McCormack and Michael Govier A new feature film based on the classic animated film is being prepared. tom and jerry. The film will be produced by Bill Damaschke’s Warner Bros. Animation Company.
They will start over with a new version of the 1940’s The Misadventures of Tom and Jerry Jerry. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera at MGM. Before MGM closed its animation division, they produced 114 short films, winning seven Academy Awards. Later versions came from Gene Deitch and Chuck Jonesand then others. Through their prolific Le Train Train banner, Jones and McCormick serve as writers, directors and producers, with credits including “Celeste and Jesse Forever” “Toy Story 4” The Invitation is directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris for FilmNation, and also stars Amy Adams, Paul Rudd and Tessa Thompson.
McCormick teamed up with Govier to write and direct the Oscar-winning short if anything happens i love you The series was released on Netflix in 2020.
Jones co-directs with Al Hicks quincyis a Grammy Award-winning documentary about her iconic father, Quincy Jones. She and McCormick recently collaborated swimming lessonsa 20-minute documentary that premiered in Telluride last year. The film follows swimming coach Bill Marsh, who helps young people replace fear with confidence and safety in their lives.
