As the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires continues to spread, the Recording Academy and MusiCares have launched Los Angeles Fire Rescue to support music professionals affected by the crisis, pledging a total of $1 million to kick-start the effort.
“The entire GRAMMY family is shocked and deeply saddened by what happened in Los Angeles,” Recording Academy and MusiCares CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement. “The music community has been so severely affected. impact, but we will come together as an industry to support each other. Our organization exists to serve musicians…we hope the wider industry will now come together to support this cause.
MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura added, “Even just looking at how many musicians lost their homes in the final day, we expect the relief efforts in Los Angeles to be outstanding.” “MusiCares remains committed to ensuring music professionals are supported in times of crisis.
