One of my favorite situation comedies is cheers. I love this show and I rewatch it often. These characters in this series are so adorable.
According to Deadline , Big Talk Studios (outlaw) revealed that they are developing a remake/reimagining of “Cheers” and plan to move the scene to a pub in the UK.
It’s explained that Big Talk has “hired CBS Studios to acquire the rights to remake the iconic sitcom cheers30 years since Ted Danson rang the bell for America’s final order.
Simon Nye (Badly Behaved Men, The Durrells) is writing the series and will also serve as showrunner should the project go into actual production.
Big talker Kenton Allen Said that bringing Cheers back in a new way is a “huge honor” and also a “huge challenge.” He added that he was “probably crazy” to take on the project, which is not hard to argue.
Adapting this classic American comedy to the UK was no easy task. I mean, it’ll be interesting to see if the creative team can actually pull this off. They’re remaking one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, and I’m not a fan of it, but if they actually manage to develop a fun and entertaining series, then good for them.
cheers Located in a cozy bar of the same name in Boston. The show revolves around the bar’s colorful staff and regulars, led by former baseball player turned bartender and owner Sam Malone.
As the characters form connections, friendships and romances, their personal lives and comedic misadventures are explored, all in the warm, inviting atmosphere of a bar where “everyone knows your name.”
