The episode begins with two fishermen kayaking deep into the ocean, catching fish. The idea is that a fisherman proposes to his girlfriend with one of the biggest fish they catch (He thinks putting the box in the fish’s mouth is the right thing to do – oops). But too bad for them, the current started to build up and there wasn’t enough time to get back to shore. The closest they could do was to head to the rocks and wait, but the current picked them up and kicked them out of the kayak (Still not sure why anyone would choose to use these things, but I guess there’s something for everyone).

More than an hour later, the children were still missing. After gathering details about their girlfriends and the location where their phones were last triggered, the team identifies a possible location and sets off for a rescue. Thankfully, it only took a moment to spot them (They successfully climbed onto the rock). Will and Laka both swam to the rocks to check on the situation and noticed that one of the fishermen had a cut on his head, but other than that they were going to be fine. Now this is where the concerns I mentioned earlier about Sonny come into play. Will and his rescuer managed to get on the skis (But they were briefly separated after a wave hit them), pushed by Emily, began to move away from the current. When Laca and his rescuers arrived at the ski resort, Sonny seemed frozen. It’s like when Will and his rescued temporarily lost each other, he was brought back to what happened with his nephew Zion.

Sonny didn’t shake it fast enough, causing Laca to yell at him. Despite this minor problem, the two fishermen were brought back to shore and received medical attention. They’ll be fine. But that wasn’t enough for Sonny as he started spiraling again. This caught Will’s attention and as he walked over to Sonny to see if he was okay, Sonny fell to the ground and passed out. He wasn’t out long, but he was out long enough to cause some concern for Emily. Sonny tried to brush it off, but when Emily said that luckily that didn’t happen during the rescue, he took it more seriously and took a break: leaving Emily in charge.
Asking for help, especially for men, can be a difficult step. Sonny was clearly not ready for this when he left the grief counseling center before completing the admission form. Sometimes, a familiar face helps – which is why Sonny went to visit Tommy. He tells Tommy what happened – a nightmare about Zion and describes it as losing Zion in a loop. Tommy’s advice to Sonny is to let go, but is that possible? It seems not in this case.

Sheena still sees Kainaru as a spoiled brat who didn’t earn his spot, and well, that’s true to an extent. Under the leadership of Emily, she distributed the day’s tasks and asked Kainaru and Sheena to team up to climb the tower. She tries to change her mission, claiming that Kainaru doesn’t know what he’s doing, and Emily points out that they started at the same time (Basically, who is she to make such a statement – because yes, Hina, why would you say that?)
Raka, well, let’s just say he’s been having a good time lately. Out drinking until the wee hours of the morning, late for work. Emily doesn’t think so; she assigns him to work with the rookie. I wonder if there’s something going on in Raqqa that we don’t know about yet, because with the way he parties every night, there’s no way this is normal. I’m sure Jenn’s constant rejection didn’t help either.
Raka became frustrated with being around the new kids and decided to leave them for a gym break. This comes after Kainaroo made a couple swim in dangerous water because they claimed to be strong swimmers. Come on, Rakka, even though I know it’s not the best move. Sheena’s cousin came to surf and got injured. Sheena was worried about her cousin and ran to help her radio, which she had forgotten in the tower (Rookie mistake).
Remember that couple I mentioned earlier in Kainaroo who made them swim in dangerous waters? Yeah…guess who discovered it in a mess? Seeing both men and women in trouble, Kainaru radioed Sheena for help (But of course she didn’t get the message). After hearing no response from Sheena, Laka also tried Sheena, but to no avail. He rushes back just in time to help Kainaru assist the man, while Sheena (Finally joined the party after Kainaru had to yell for her) helped the woman. Now, in this situation, I’m really upset with Sheena for putting me on Kainaru’s side on this. Fortunately, both the hero and heroine are safe.

Emily wasn’t happy to hear what happened. She scolds Raka for ignoring the rookie and assigns him to dispatch. His defiant attitude prompts her to assemble the crew for a drill to choose their mission (Sorry, fifty burpees? Do I have to be the first to get the assignment I want? Let me clean the shed now because there’s no way). Kainaru finishes first and selects the tower; Sheena follows him and decides to join him (oh? Hina, what’s going on?). Will she change her mind about him?
Sonny comes back at the end of things to see what Emily had the team do. She says the team won’t respect her if she doesn’t show some authority, but Sonny disagrees and says this is a surefire way to push for their transfer (It must be about Will, their ending of their relationship, prompting him to become a firefighter).
The episode ends with the gifts that keep on giving – the family of the son who delayed medical care is now not only filing a lawsuit (Specifically named Sonny and Emily), but now that the matter has been reported to the media, it doesn’t make things any easier for the team. Sonny’s reaction to the news confuses Emily and creates tension between them. How bad would this be for the crew?
