Not surprisingly, the best moment of rescue: Hi-Surf Season 1 is an hour centered on Kainalu Emerson.
Sometimes Kainalu is a forgotten character, which is not what you will think of at the beginning of the series – a Nepo Baby with a superior complex that causes huge mistakes while ambitious political father pulls up String music.
It has the creativity of a classic redemption story, but things are not resolved.
Kainalu didn’t do a big explosive rescue, which shows that all his peers were actually a competent lifeguard and a better person, while Sappy Music played in the backstage.
Instead, Kainalu proved his worth.
It turns out that he is able to accept criticism, study work, show compassion and do his best to help his neighbors. It’s great to see him grow throughout the season, especially with his dynamics with colleagues and roommate Hina.
But before we get stuck in love, Rescue: Hi-Surf Episode 1, Episode 13 is dominated by underwater bombs found by some people on the seabed.
I’m not sure if I’ve heard of this kind of real life happening, and I don’t know its protocol. Nevertheless, when the Navy came in with their underwater bomb squad, I scolded myself for not realizing that this should have happened.
Kenny looked like a very cute guy during the brief moment we spent with him. He gave a detailed introduction to the task, which seemed simple, in some ways. But they obviously had no plans to detonate the bomb while it was still in the water, putting the entire crew and Kainalu in danger.
Kainalu probably shouldn’t be there in the first place because he hasn’t been proven to be on the rescue ski, but he’s been working hard to get the chance and I’m glad to see Sonny allowing him to go there about what should be Routine task.
Neither Sonny nor Kainalu thought he had to use snowboards to rescue anyone, and ultimately that was right. However, this is due to the explosion that makes the ski useless and seriously hurts Kainalu.
At this point, I sound like a broken record that praises the action sequences in this series, but it’s one thing they’ve always done well. The rescue is huge and they feel real.
You are in those waters, with the guards, these waves of saves. They take you into moments and don’t let you get out of the situation.
It was chaotic water after the bomb exploded, and Kaianlu was in poor condition, but he stepped up to help Will and saved his life while fighting for his own battle.
OK, so maybe Kainalu did get his big hero moment.
We haven’t seen much of the mayor Clayton Emerson this season, but he’s known after Kainalu was seriously injured.
The father-son dynamics here are fascinating, but not completely breaking the mold. You can tell the mayor that loves his son, but he doesn’t accept much of what he thinks.
Sure, he helped him get a job, but it was a little incredible and did it the way he thought he would do one thing, Kainalu would take it out of his system and then go back to his father’s plan for him in life. .
I have no doubt that Elder Emerson wants the best son, but it is difficult to see Kainalu wake up after being injured in the hospital. His father immediately continued to do what his life should do, not just provide comfort.
Of course, he might be scared, and he felt like he was doing his best to protect his son, but when Kainalu continued to move forward and paved the way for the road he wanted, he refused to hear his son go out and drive the wedge.
Kainalu loves his work and is good at it. This is dangerous, but it is also meaningful and necessary.
He is proving himself, but he is doing a great job for the community. He is not the mayor, but his job is indispensable to the island.
Kainalu recovered quickly, but when he was still in the hospital, we were perhaps the cutest Kainalu and Hina scenes when she visited him.
During the day, Hina deals with the influencer played by guest star Olivia Culpo, who is ready to do anything to get content on the beach, including putting her people at risk middle.
Like Kainalu, Hina also finds herself studying at work and becoming a better lifeguard. She showed that when she made the rules, she did this to protect people on the beach.
The relationship between Hina and Kainalu has been difficult from the beginning, and Hina has good reason to doubt Kainalu from the beginning. But as they learn more about each other, they develop a deep respect between them and between many feelings.
We know they (well, most people) decide to stay with friends and won’t pursue anything after trying during the rescue: Hi-Surf Season 1 Episode 9, but it’s certainly not that they aren’t together because they aren’t each other like.
We were robbed Hina’s reaction to learning Kainalu was in the hospital, but her visit to him was ridiculously sweet and tender, while briefly, it was filled with warmth.
Give him snacks, make him speak heroically about the island, and bring him the cutest little kiss on his cheek. This is the boat that all of us should take root!
I was all a slow burn and seeing these two continue to build friendships on the way to romantic it was a great treat for those of us who were a little romantic in action drama!
Speaking of romance, Will and Em are still out, and that’s what it should be. These two require rest from each other and since they won’t get a job at work, they need to be outside of work.
Do they need to speak? Of course, they need to speak. They have to meet each other almost every day, and for this reason alone, they can’t pretend that nothing will happen if they want to survive every day.
But they don’t need to have a conversation yet. They can keep their emotions calming down and have more room after Will’s leave, having a flat conversation as they return to each other’s tracks.
The conversation they need will have enough time, but get them back to what they do best now: Saving lives.
All the drama can wait for another climax day.
Additional rescue notes
- I don’t have the idea of time for this show, but things are moving fast! Kainalu was bombed, recovered, and attended the funeral in an episode!
- The recruits didn’t even get the name, so it’s very likely that they won’t make an impact, but I’m glad to see Em push them to see and show off a little. They are good at their jobs and should be proud of it.
- Sonny never really left, but the story of going beyond him is good. He was born to be the captain.
- RIP Kenny! Considering that we only knew him for thirty seconds, they managed to make his death incredible by honing his wife’s sorrow and showing us his funeral.
