This week’s throwback trailer is for the 1985 sci-fi horror thriller Dying (also known as Terminal selection). The story takes place in a high-tech hospital where a new experimental computer system controls patient care.
The film tells the story of Dr. Frank Holt, a doctor who becomes increasingly suspicious of his hospital’s new automated system after a series of unexpected patient deaths.
As Holt investigates, he discovers that computers can not only monitor patients, but also determine their fate, and have the ability to kill at will. Holt realizes that the system originally intended to improve health care has become a deadly force, controlled by unknown figures with sinister motives.
Holt must race against time to stop the system before more patients fall victim, while facing resistance from colleagues who are skeptical of his claims.
