Taylor Swift took to social media to say goodbye to The Eras Tour, the final of a 149-date tour in 2023-2024, after playing three shows in Vancouver over the weekend. Three shows, total revenue exceeded $2 billion.
The “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” hitmaker uploaded a series of live concert photos — 17 of them, to be exact, all of which appear to be from her December 6-8 A three-day takeover in the Canadian city of BC Place — Wednesday (December 11), three days after the last Eras date. The photos were accompanied by a brief message from Swift.
“This is rare. I was there. I remember,” Swift’s post read. These words came out of her mouth red “All Too Well” is crowned with the classic red heart emoji instead of the white heart emoji often attached to posts about her latest Billboard 200 chart-topping album tortured poets department and its expansion Anthology.
Photos of Swift show off group bows and hugs, backstage photos with her band and dancers, triumphant performance footage, a final “August” spin, her duet with opener Gracie Abrams etc.
The final weekend of The Eras tour didn’t feature any end-of-tour fanfare, at least not publicly displayed on stage in front of 60,000 people a night. The culmination of the tour celebrated a finely calibrated level of performance, with all three nights professionally filmed for an unannounced project. The shows featured surprising song highlights such as “Never Grow Up”/”The Best Day” (her parents were in attendance), “The Tortured Poets Department”/”Maroon” (which was presumably tortured poet Muse), and “Viva”/”New Year’s Day”/”Manuscript” (a closing night mashup of post-age reflections).
