The 2020s were a time of reboots, remakes, and reimaginings, with classic shows finding new audiences on various streaming services.
Suits: LA is one of the most anticipated spinoffs in years, and our cast and characters guide has all the information you need about who’s appearing on the show and the characters they’ll be playing.
The series will launch in 2025 and will star familiar faces, including recurring guest roles from the original series.
Suits soared to become the most-streamed series in history in 2023, ranking No. 1 on Netflix, many years after the show premiered in the United States from 2011 to 2019.
It will be interesting to see if the show’s predecessor achieves the same success, and if the spinoff inspires more attempts, or even an original reboot.
Set: A Guide to Los Angeles Actors and Characters
It appears that Suits will have a similar plot premise to the original show, with a team of defense attorneys representing big-money clients.
While the original series focused on New York’s best Terminator lawyer Harvey Spector (played by Gabriel Macht) and his protégé, conman-turned-lawyer Mike Ross, “Suits: Los Angeles” will focus on Ted. A new law firm led by Blake (Stephen Amell).
Ted Black (played by Stephen Amell)
Ted Black is a Los Angeles defense attorney struggling to keep his law firm open. He began his career as a federal prosecutor in New York—and may have a surprising connection to Harvey.
With the change of scenery comes a career change for Blake. While he once worked to chase away bad guys, his current situation at a law firm on the brink of bankruptcy means he’s changed his tune.
On the West Coast, his defensive law practice focused on managing large clients with substantial capital.
Stephen Amell will play Blake, the protagonist and company boss. Amell is best known for starring as Oliver Queen in eight seasons of The CW’s Arrow, nine episodes of The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Six episodes.
He also had a recurring role as Jack Spade on “Heels,” played Casey Jones in the 2016 “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie, and starred in the failed “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Private Practice.” Kurt Becker.
Harvey Spector (Gabriel Macht)
Given Black’s East Coast connections, we expect a fascinating story to unfold that connects New York attorney Harvey Specter to a West Coast law firm and Ted Black.
Initially, the Suits spinoff didn’t feature anyone from the original Suits cast, but Gabriel Macht recently made a surprising announcement on his social media. Excited to change this prediction.
In his promotional video, we see someone donning a monogrammed shirt with the letters HS and then slipping into a pair of fancy business shoes with Harvey written on the sole.
We’re not sure how much we’ll see of Harvey on Suits: LA , or what role he’ll play in Black’s new company. Are they friends? Former colleague?
Will Harvey help the company succeed, or hinder it?
While Macht is best known for playing Ghost, his most recent role, in all 134 episodes of Suits, he has also appeared in many other roles. My favorite was his turn as the romantic rival of Mandy Moore (This Is Us) in Because I Said So (2007).
Stewart Lane (Josh McDermitt)
Stewart Lane would become a close friend and colleague of Blake’s. The two opened Black Lane Law in Los Angeles 15 years ago.
McDermitt is best known for his role on The Walking Dead (seasons 4 to 11). He has appeared in many single-episode films and series.
He also had a recurring role on “35”.
Erica Rollins (Lex Scott Davis)
Erica Rollins will be a young, promising law protégé with a strong will and shrewd instincts.
Davis is best known for her roles as Erin on “Ricky Stanicky,” Iris on “The Floridian,” and Cassidy “Cass” Ray on “Insurgent,” and as Alice Craig in Training Day.
Rick Dodson (Brian Greenberg)
Rick Dodson will play the rival of Ted’s young protégé. So far we know very little about his character. But make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter to be notified when we do.
Greenberg is known for his roles in such TV series as “Ocean Park,” “The Mindy Project,” “American Entrepreneurship” and “October Road.”
Suits: Coming Soon in Los Angeles
Starting February 23, 2025, we can watch Suits: Los Angeles airing on NBC Sundays.
Viewers will also be treated to several posthumous appearances by the late John Amos himself.
The Suits spinoff may feature new locations and new characters, but it will be produced by the same production team as the original show, from showrunner and creator Aaron Coe to the same writers and costume designers.
It’s a backstage reunion for “Suits.”
There is no news yet about other Suits cast members joining the Suits: LA spinoff. But sources say several series regulars, including Patrick J. Adams (played by Mike Ross), “9-1-1: Lone Star”‘s Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty (Donna ), are open to the possibility of a cameo.
Who knows. We might even get to see Meghan Markle play Rachel, who left before the show ended because she was marrying into the royal family.
