Update (October 9): Shawn Mendes announced his upcoming fifth studio album on Wednesday (October 9) on X Sean It will now be released on November 15th instead of the original October 18th release date. “Hey guys,” Mendes wrote alongside a heart emoji. “My team and I have decided to push back the album release date to November 15th. We just need a little more time to bring some new inspiration and ideas to life. I love you guys and thank you for being so patient, and I can’t wait to release the album on November 15th.” See you at the next few shows.
Shawn Mendes is ready for his next era of music.
The pop superstar announced his self-titled album on Instagram on Wednesday (July 31), Seanwill be released on October 18th.
Mendes also shared a trailer for the album, which features the 25-year-old singer playing guitar in a forest and singing “Isn’t That Enough” while surrounded by friends around a campfire. He wrote in the caption: “Music really does heal. Two years ago, I felt like I had no idea who I was. A year ago, I would go into a complete panic when I walked into the studio. So now I can bring Coming here with 12 beautifully finished songs feels like a gift.
He continued, “Sincerely thank God for the friends and family he has given me. Life can be cruel, but having a small group of people you trust to see you through it makes it so much better. I don’t know where I’ve been How am I supposed to get through a few years, let alone make an album without you.
After thanking his friends and family for always supporting him, Mendes gave a shout-out to his fans. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredible support, patience and love. I really hope you enjoy this album, I do. I really really do. I hope it makes you like me I feel warm and close to the earth.

Sean is the star’s fifth studio album, following 2020 Want to know and Mendes’ previous project of the same name, 2018 shawn mendes. The album was written and produced by Mendes with collaborators Scott Harris, Mike Sabas, Nate Mercero and Eddie Benjamin, with additional songs by Amy Allen and E. Co-written by San Gruska.
The new album is also Mendes’ first full-length since canceling her 2022 Wonder tour to focus on her mental health.
