Sienna Miller will star opposite John Krasinski in the film Jack Ryan Amazon MGM Studios is developing this feature.
The project is described as the next step in the adventure series, which has proven to be a hit for the company, and will see several actors from the series reprise their roles, including Wendell Pierce (electric wire) and Michael Kelly (house of cards). In addition to starring, Krasinski is also producing Sunday Night with his co-star Allyson Seeger.
Jack Ryan Season 2 executive producer and director Andrew Bernstein will direct the film from a script by Aaron Rabin, who served as co-executive producer and writer on Season 4.
The show is based on characters created by writer Tom Clancy and the so-called “Ryanverse”, but takes place in the present day. The show aired on Prime Video for four seasons and ranked among the streamer’s top three most-watched shows worldwide.
Plot details are being kept deep inside the Pentagon, but the story will once again center on the intrepid CIA analyst played by Krasinski. Miller, for her part, plays an MI6 agent who is essentially Ryan’s British counterpart.
The film is a co-production with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. The latter’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will serve as executive producers alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse.
Miller was last seen on the big screen in two of Kevin Costner’s western epics Horizon: An American Legend. The first part was released in theaters on June 28, and the second part premiered at the Venice International Film Festival but has not been released yet. Miller also played himself in the final season of Larry David curb your enthusiasm Recently starred in Netflix series Anatomy of a Scandal.
