Watching the third episode of Slow Horse, we can only ask, “Who let the dog out?” The dog in question is looking for some lamb. Mainly in the form of Emma Flett (Ruth Bradley), who isn’t as smart as she thinks she is.
river
The river is still in France. After following the lead of an assassin who looked just like him, he was captured and remains imprisoned to this day. When his captors realized he was not the dead man, his father killed him with a shotgun and angry villagers wanted a piece of his life.
Flatt arrests Lamb, who is a total “dog” in this episode. Her distaste for having to deal with loser minds is palpable. It was obvious that she couldn’t stand his unclean or impolite behavior. She’s not alone in feeling this way. All the dogs in MI5 feel the same way.
Meanwhile, River is still running and hiding. Just before Fleet arrives, his grandfather David is moved. Catherine proves once again that she is more than just a secretary by placing the older Cartwright under Flett’s nose.
River travels to the next location in France, where he must go to learn about an assassination attempt on his grandfather. The grandfather who let Catherine slip away and move around.
Lamb returned to his office.
MI5 and Slough House
The slow horses of Slough House learned that their new addition was still a few bricks shy of full load. He’s got a dangerous streak; drawing a knife on Danes Amy-Fionn Edwards.
Back in the big house, things are still all backstabbing and ulterior motives. First Chair; Whelan hires Kitty (Kiran Sonia Sarwar) to sabotage Taverna. Sam Chapman (Sean Gilder) almost fell victim. Lamb knocked down six of the new assassins, who all knew that the new assassin could be the Terminator’s stand-in.
Meanwhile, the bomb problem is plaguing everyone, whether it’s MI5 or Slough House. David Cartwright is still missing and River’s run isn’t over yet.
Slow Horse airs on Apple TV, with new episodes airing every Wednesday.
