Small-town murder mysteries often take a back seat to Carl and Cassandra’s romance.
However, both will be featured in the fifth episode of the first season of Small Town.
This will be the episode that really tests their relationship.
The spoiler photos and promos look exciting so far. The trailers are based on this and a synopsis of the book Panic.
We can’t wait to see how Kristin Kreuk handles the material and Cassandra’s emotional performance.
Spoilers tease Carl and Cassandra appear to be happily ever after
In Small Town Season 1 Episode 4, Carl revealed that he and Cassandra had been dating for six months and were officially a couple.
Since the series jumps around in book order, we often get time jumps and miss out on seeing them go through key romantic moments.
They looked so happy and in love that Carl naturally felt safe when another man talked to Cassandra at work.
He believed in their relationship and knew she would never hurt him.
Devon Sawa guest stars as a love-hungry psychopath
Carl is right to trust Cassandra, but he should be more wary of Gordon Murphy.
Gordon Murphy, played by Devon Sawa (Chucky), is a savvy businessman who is unlucky in love.
He met Cassandra in the library; after getting to know her, she was polite but showed no romantic interest.
Gordon Murphy is the kind of guy who doesn’t take no for an answer. Judging from the synopsis and spoiler photos, he has decorated the house for his new wife.
Apparently, he was optimistic that it was Cassandra. The promo implies that he stalked and kidnapped her in an attempt to woo her.
If he thinks she’ll make a dutiful wife, he’s chosen the wrong woman, and I can’t wait to see her rage as she tries to escape.
While Cassandra may need Carl’s help, she’s fierce and strong and will do whatever she can to get out of trouble.
Cassandra’s kidnapping will challenge Carl
Carl has been alone for too long and now that he’s fallen in love, losing Cassandra could destroy him, mostly if he blames himself for not suspecting that Gordon Murphy was dangerous.
Receiving a call that Cassandra’s life was in danger would send Carl over the edge. He becomes a police officer to protect people, so if he doesn’t protect her, he will be destroyed.
Carl always followed the law, even to the point of driving Cassandra crazy at times. However, the promo shows him attacking someone, most likely Gordon Murphy, in search of answers.
It will be fun to watch his team help him. We know they’ll have his back, and Sid will stop Carl from making things worse.
The fear of losing Cassandra will put his professional and personal life in jeopardy. As a man in love, Carl will do whatever it takes to save her, but is this legal?
The promotional video hints at a ransom demand, but from watching many police procedurals, suspects often do this to play off loved ones.
Considering Carl is the police chief, this puts him in a difficult position. I wonder if Sid will lead this investigation because of a conflict of interest, or if Karl would do it anyway.
Carl also has to tread carefully as he has custody of his teenage daughter and tries to prove to her that she’s just as important as his career.
If she sees how much her father cares about others, this situation could help or hurt their progress.
Will Cassandra’s kidnapping introduce us to her family?
In the first episode of Season 1 of Small Town, Cassandra mentions moving back home to take care of her mother.
While the show has yet to introduce her mother, this would be the perfect time.
Technically, there are no spoilers suggesting she shows up, but Cassandra’s mother will be worried if she doesn’t come home to take care of her.
Additionally, if Cassandra and Carl had been dating for more than six months, he would have wanted to immediately inform her mother of Cassandra’s kidnapping to see if she had any more theories and understand her situation.
The series does a great job of incorporating Carl’s family drama, and hopefully they’ll touch on Cassandra’s family drama as well.
Time is ticking so they can find her on time.
This weekly promo is one of the most exciting promos of the season as it centers around Carl and Cassandra.
