as you know, Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling have been actively trying to obtain smallville The sequel series will continue the story of the original show.
There are a lot of factors and things that need to be considered to make this happen, and all we know so far is that it’s going to be a long road and there’s no guarantee that it will happen.
However, if this does happen, many of the actors from the original show would return to reprise their roles. Buffy the Vampire Slayer star James Masters plays Brainiac, one of Clark Kent’s greatest enemies, and confirmed in a recent interview with Screen Rant that he would be willing to reprise his role on the show.
“Absolutely,” Masters said. “I think Smallville is the smartest version of the Superman character I’ve ever seen.
“Superman is a difficult character to write because he is invulnerable. Heroism is when I help others, even if I have to sacrifice something to help them.
“That’s the definition, when you have a hero movie, you have the most exciting part [which] It’s when a hero has to risk his or her life to save someone or help someone.
“That’s impossible with Superman. He’s invulnerable. Unless you take out the kryptonite, he’ll be fine. That’s what every Superman movie does.
Masters continued: “There’s kryptonite somewhere, and he has to risk death to do his thing. But on a TV show, you can’t take out the kryptonite every week. It gets very fast. Superfluous.
“It’s all because he’s a teenager and he’s vulnerable to everything and they can explore [the] Superman’s emotional vulnerability. I just thought, ‘Okay, you’ve solved this problem. This is what to do.
“They were able to stick with this show for ten years without being redundant and without being repetitive. After that, I’d love to do more of this.
I most hope this project can happen. Welling previously told fans: “We’ve been talking about it for a couple of years. We wanted to do a smallville Comic books and animated series, and then we would all voice the characters. We already have an artist and we have a poster.
He said of the poster art: “We can’t share it yet, but Lionel Luthor is looming in front of everyone, which is really cool, but we just we can’t do anything unless DC says we It can be done.
“They just didn’t give us the green light, but we’re ready, Al [Gough] and myers [Millar]the author of “Smallville,” wanted to write it.
Welling later admitted that a Smallville revival was unlikely to be a money-making opportunity for Warner Bros. Discovery Channel, but I think there’s a strong enough fan base that it would be a success!
He added: “It’s more of a labor of love. It’s not going to make a billion dollars, so the studio is kind of like [grumbles]. Maybe we could do a – not a GoFundMe, because that’s financial – but like a petition. We can ask Warner Bros. to let us do that.
Rosenbaum previously teased the project, saying: “Tom and I are developing a smallville An animated series we are working on. This takes time.
He continued: “But the Creator smallville is attached, they want to be a part of it. You know, when the time comes, we’ll promote it.
“You know, we’re working on it, we’ve got some loose animation [on] With a great guy. Looks great. So if we could do that, that would be awesome.
The original series starred Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor and Welling as Clark Kent. Kristin Crook Played by Lana Lang, Eric Johnson, Sam Jones III, Allison Mack, Annette O’Toole, John Schneider, John Glover, Jensen Ackles, Erica Durance, Justin Hartleyand Callum Blueetc.
The only thing holding them back now is James Gunn and DC Studios signed the agreement.
