smallville Star Tom Welling recently opened up about the opportunities he had to work with Christopher Reeve when he appeared in the fan-favorite Superman series.
Reeve appeared in an episode of the show, which, according to Welling, was a great experience for Reeve because he wanted to work on the show for longer than he was allowed.
When it comes to Reeve’s appearance in the show, Welling said: “I found out three days ago. You only get a script every 10 days, and when you get the script, you start shooting three days later.
“I remember it was Greg again, the same guy, and he came to the set and said, ‘Well, what are you doing this weekend?’ I was like, ‘What do you mean? ” I was like, ‘That’s great. I [gotta] Take a picture,’ like, he [goes,] “I think on Friday morning we’re going to shoot, we’re going to get on a plane, fly to New York and shoot in New York on Saturday and Sunday.”
“I was like, ‘Why? I don’t want to go! [Greg says] “Well, we have Chris, we have [him] Three hours on Saturday,” and I was like, “Okay…that’s a good idea.
Welling had no idea he would be working with Reeve until days before they met. He shared his experience and said:
“We flew out and we shot the next day – Chris was only supposed to be there for three hours and I think he was there for six or seven hours until his nurse, who had physical power of attorney over him.
“I remember she said – because he didn’t want to leave, he wanted to stay and shoot with me because we were just going to shoot his side and then he was leaving and then I was going to go shoot mine with other people. side, but he wanted to stay—“If you don’t come with me, I’m going to call the police and I’m going to get you out of here. ”
“‘He looked at me and he said, ‘They always tell me what to do,’ and he started laughing. He eventually had to leave, but he really wanted to be there. We had a lot of fun.
It was great that Welling had the opportunity to work with Reeve, even if it was just for a short time.
In the episode, Reeve plays a brilliant, wealthy scientist named Dr. Virgil Swann who stumbles upon a message from Krypton and tracks down Clark Kent to be a member of an alien race .
