Sony Pictures releases first trailer 28 years laterdirector Danny Boyle’s long-awaited sequel to the zombie apocalypse.
The footage is mostly black, with Morse code audio and flashes of an island connected by a long land bridge, as well as statuesque figures (crucified zombies?), red skulls and red pollution symbols.
The studio was being extra secretive about the release, taking the unusual step of not putting a title or description of the film on the YouTube clip, but officials also broke the news on Twitter 28 years later Account on X.
Online sleuths say the island appears to be Lindisfarne in Northumberland, which would appear to be a sensible refuge during a zombie outbreak.

In the film, Cillian Murphy reprises her role as a survivor from the 2002 original 28 days later Starring alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Erin Kellyman and Edwin Redding. Original screenwriter Alex Garland also returns to pen the script with Boyle.
The film was reportedly shot back-to-back with another sequel, 28 Years Later Part Two: Temple of Bones. The project is directed by Nia DaCosta, written by Boyle and Garland, and stars Murphy.
28 years later Will be released on June 20th.
