The fall finale is quickly approaching, and with it, the premiere season of High Potential is on hold. But loyal viewers need not worry as there will be one more episode before the show goes on hiatus.
It looks like the writers wanted the break to start with a literal bang. This time, the call came from inside the precinct.
Morgan just wanted to take her kids to see her work, and then the whole place was hijacked. Isn’t this the life of parents? Make a plan in pencil.
Judging from the promo for High Potential Season 1 Episode 7, danger is closer to home than anyone expected.
The question is, will everyone escape unscathed? After all, this is a technical ending. We will most likely see a “heroic sacrifice” or a “bullet catcher” (sometimes called a “bullet catcher”).
High-potential talents have the perfect conditions for “heroic sacrifice”
If someone isn’t trying to sacrifice themselves in some way to protect everyone, then it’s not a program. Isn’t that one of the reasons we watch shows like High Potential?
We love light-hearted dramas with an upbeat tone and quirky storylines. It’s called the “Blue Sky Show,” and there’s nothing quite like the calming feeling you get from looking up at a clear blue sky.
Sadly, High Potential Season 1 Episode 7 will no longer be breezy and calm since I last checked, and getting blown up isn’t anyone’s idea of relaxation – unless there’s a new trend I’m not aware of .
You might think this is Karadek’s (Daniel Sunjata) moment to shine, but you’d be wrong. Even though the promo is over, it’s not even Morgan’s. We will solve this problem.
No, this is the spotlight moment for some of the supporting characters, like Oz, Daphne, or the Captain. These characters still have a lot of potential to shine.
Then again, high potentials are no strangers to curveballs. If Lieutenant Mellon really was the “Bullet Catcher,” that wouldn’t be the craziest thing. Stranger things happened.
I hope Lieutenant Melon will bring news about Roman’s whereabouts when he returns.
You read that right; Lieutenant Mellon is back. The cynical yet approachable lieutenant returns to the series after High Potential Season 1 Episode 3. that.
Now, it’s anyone’s guess what Garrett Dillahunt’s Lt. Mellon will be doing back. Last time I checked, the actor was busy doing his shenanigans in Hysteria! Maybe he had been looking for Roman.
Mellon was last seen helping Captain Selina track down leads on Morgan’s missing ex-boyfriend Roman. The news is bittersweet, as Selena confirmed Roman didn’t abandon Morgan and Ava, but it does mean he was most likely taken away.
At this point, it’s fair to say that whatever the case involves, it could set the stage for High Potential Season 2.
This show is too good not to be approved for multiple seasons. Maybe that’s why it’s taking so long. Sounds like another case that needs solving.
Will Morgan go into “mama bear” mode when her daughter is in danger?
Obviously, I’m talking about who the real killer is so our favorite area doesn’t get blown to smithereens. What do you think I mean?
The official synopsis for High Potential Season 1, Episode 7 reads: “Morgan agrees to give Ava a tour of the LAPD, but things quickly go wrong when the station is taken hostage by the friends of a recently convicted man. A dangerous turn has taken place.
“Can Morgan and the detectives outwit the kidnappers and lead everyone to safety?”
Can you believe ABC had the audacity to ask Morgan and the detectives if they could outwit the kidnappers and lead everyone to safety? Of course they do – especially Morgan. Her daughter is there.
Those kidnappers are going to need all the help they can get. You can’t poke “Mama Bear.” Anyone who has watched High Potential Season 1, Episode 4 knows that Morgan doesn’t play around with children.
Sure, Morgan is smart enough to solve any case where the kidnapper needs the real killer, but can she keep her temper in check until then?
It’s been a minute, but not all of us have forgotten how Morgan had no problem wielding the police in the first episode of High Potential’s season 1.
However, we haven’t seen her children in danger yet, which could reveal a new side of Morgan. What to do after a hostage situation occurs? Will Morgan decide her job is too dangerous for her family?
High Potential Season 1 Episode 7 Has Pretty Big Killer Problems to Deal with
The last words heard at the end of the promo are one of the kidnappers asking, “Who’s your best detective?” before Morgan raises her hand.
Now, we have to remember that promos are edited to attract an audience, not necessarily to describe events in chronological order. Matlock in particular is a big user of this strategy.
Morgan is not a detective at all in the sense of salary or official title. She can get to the bottom of the case, but she’s not a police officer.
So, if she does raise her hand to answer her kidnapper’s question, what’s her plan? With the speed she was thinking, she could have a thousand reasons for raising her hand.
Having said all this, does anyone have any sympathy for the kidnappers? Don’t get me wrong — what they’re doing is wrong on so many levels. But so is going to jail for a crime you didn’t commit – especially murder.
Best of all, the killer is still at large. In this regard, time is of the essence. There has to be a better way than taking the entire precinct hostage.
While things are going to be pretty grim in High Potential Season 1 Episode 7, what happens after that will be something to watch. We have to keep a close eye on our girl Morgan.
Did I mention this is the fall finale? Yes, there will almost certainly be some kind of suspense. Personally, I love autumn suspense.
The anticipation is great because you don’t have to wait as long as you would for a season finale cliffhanger. Still, the dynamic duo of Morgan and Caradek will be missed during the break.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: High potential is as much about the heart as it is about the brain, if not more. ABC has a keeper.
