It’s safe to say that NCIS: Origins is no longer tiptoeing around the idea of Gibbs seeking revenge for the murder of his family. The team is heading to Mexico, but at least there’s plenty of tequila.
Just from the vibe of the “Vivo o Muerto” promo, it’s clear that this episode is going to be action-packed, so at least the series is consistent. At least we never have to worry about musicals.
For those of you who are not fluent in Spanish, I would be happy to translate the episode titles of NCIS: Origins to get the full dramatic effect. The episode title translates to “Death or Life” in English. Heavy, am I right?
Before NCIS: Origins takes a little break for the holidays, we should all start getting ready for some epic episodes.
At least it looks like Lara will be front and center again. Hopefully the writers will give us loyal viewers some insight into this troublesome and mysterious character.
If NCIS: Origins doesn’t connect the dots between Lala and Gibbs soon, there will be riots in the streets
At this point, talking about how much the character of Agent Lara Dominguez needs to be fleshed out feels like a dead horse. Puzzles are only interesting if they have clues.
It should be said, however, that Mariel Molino did an excellent job with the materials she was given. Actors are only as good as the script they write.
Many viewers expressed disappointment that the first half of NCIS: Origins’ first half depicted Lala as a key plot point that was grossly underutilized.
Don’t even get me started on NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 6, “Invisible.” To say audiences were disappointed would be an understatement.
It feels like being caught up in an event that never ends well. Hopefully the show will finally connect the dots so viewers can stop trying to find connections between Gibbs and Lala’s stories.
Speaking of Gibbs, he will be heading to Mexico with the rest of the team. You know what this means, right?
‘NCIS: Origins’ Paves the Way for Landmark Moment in the ‘NCIS’ Series
Now, I don’t think this means we’ll see the commemorative moments we were hoping to see recreated in NCIS: Origins.
However, I would be crazy if this episode didn’t give us some kind of reference to Gibbs finding his family’s murderer. The audience is primed and ready to witness history happening.
Granted, in the promo, Gibbs seems pretty busy with the case, as you can hear him say halfway through, “I’m not losing focus on her.” So, his head is clearly on the game.
Gibbs’ backstory has been explored a lot on NCIS, so does anyone else think it’s weird that the show doesn’t show Gibbs taking any action toward his ultimate plan?
We know what happens next, but there isn’t much action aside from flashbacks. This is just speculation, but there may be flashbacks of Gibbs’ behind-the-scenes activities in the first few episodes of NCIS: Origins.
CBS loves a show that knows how to turn things around. If you don’t believe me, just watch Matlock or Elsbeth.
To paraphrase the Charlie Daniels Band, an NIS agent travels to Mexico; he’s looking for someone to kill.
When in doubt, NCIS: Origins returns it to fan-favorite Franks
The official synopsis for “NCIS: Origins” Season 1, Episode 9 reads: “When a missing woman goes missing after a night with a Navy sailor, the team travels to Mexico, where they learn she may be connected to the Djibouti. It’s related to Sri Lanka’s past.
Just imagine, if that poor girl went clubbing with other men, she would have to rely on the federal police. But now, she’ll also have expert help from Mike Franks.
Let’s talk about our thoughts on NCIS: Origins; Kyle Schmid is the breakout star of this incredible show. His acting skills are far beyond any role he has played before.
This episode wouldn’t be worth watching without Franks, and he seemed to be by Lala’s side every moment of this cross-border adventure.
In the promo, Franks says, “Let’s make a plan,” to which Lara responds, “I get their attention upfront; you can call it that when you move in.
Lara may be a complex character on a personal level, but she’s a damn good NIS agent. Then again, work is a great way to distract yourself from the heaviness of life. Just ask Gibbs. Too dark?
‘NCIS: Origins’ Season 1 Episode 9 follows the theme of ‘Taken’ and leaves room for more substantial subplots
Does anyone understand the last part of the description of “Vivo o Muerto”? Specifically, the part about “Did they learn about a possible connection to Gibbs’ past?” That’s some interesting wording.
Viewers are fully aware of Gibbs’ (Austin Stowell) “connection” to his past in Mexico. This has been the central focus of Gibbs’ entire show’s story thus far. So, is this where the team starts connecting the dots of Gibbs’ plan?
Is this an NCIS reference to a character viewers previously encountered on the original show? This may seem like an odd choice of words, but that’s the point, right? Giving viewers a sense of curiosity that only “NCIS: Origins” can satisfy.
Due to the simplicity of the case, which basically has a “Takeaway” vibe to it, NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 9 will likely feature an epic subplot.
The show is going to take a break after the next episode, and any episode worth its salt is known to leave viewers wanting more.
Cliffhangers are like Amazon packages. You’re excited because you know you’re going to get something good, but the wait is painful. It’s a bittersweet treat that we’re all too used to.
Given the high quality of NCIS: Origins and the massive franchise behind it, audiences should have high expectations for the writer’s work.
First off, did anyone expect Randy to be this good in NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 8? This is just another example of how the show continues to exceed expectations.
While not all viewers found this to be an NCIS series, that was largely due to the strong focus on the characters. After all, this is an “Origin” series.
I just know there better be a Christmas episode before the show goes on hiatus because I need to see Mike Franks wearing a Santa hat.
Plus, you know Mary Jo will be wearing her holiday attire. Where is this Mary Jo-centric episode? Let’s talk.
Seriously, NCIS: Origins is a fantastic series that subverts expectations and delivers a story that feels as real as what we watch on screen.
