There’s a lot of talk about how television has changed over the past decade. Many shows now take two years or more to release a new season. Do you think the time spent affects the quality? Do you think what it has to offer is worth the wait?
as: Creating a TV show is not an easy task when you consider all the steps that go into making it. Whether it’s writing the script, casting, location selection, shooting everything for months on end, ADR, editing, special effects and visual effects, post-production, scoring—These are just part of the puzzle! That’s definitely a tall order for any show, and more importantly if it’s a fantasy show, maybe a comedy, every genre and every show within it is different from each other – which is A long and arduous wait? Yes. Especially if there was a cliffhanger at the end of last season? Yes. But if there’s one thing I’ve discovered, it’s that shows that take about two years of blood, sweat, and tears of not just the cast, but the crew, directors, and producers, usually end up being so. dragon house, bridgeton and the last of us Some shows that immediately come to mind but took a long time to post. And every season we always try our best to move towards bigger, better and more brilliant!
The alternative would seem to suggest that a more rushed production schedule would have resulted in the production either being left on the editing floor, or the show might not be up to par; but of course, network television did manage to do that in a year’s time, and There are long seasons of episodes, and those were still pretty amazing when it was released, so maybe it really depends on the specific show?
California: In many cases, the waiting does reflect in the quality. Episodes that take their time tend to offer more carefully crafted narratives and visually impressive plots. game of Thrones (before the final season) is a great example of how an extensive production plan can lead to rich world-building and high-quality execution. However, there are also disadvantages. Long gaps between seasons can lead to frustration and sometimes even lead to viewers losing interest or forgetting key plot details.
Ultimately, whether the wait is “worth it” depends on execution. Many fans will feel the wait is justified if the quality improves significantly and enhances the viewing experience, as shown below succession or crown. However, when delays result in lackluster content (such as the critically panned “The Final Season”) game of Thrones), the extended wait feels more like a disservice. While time improves quality, the real question is whether the storytelling and production ultimately justify the delay. Fans are often willing to wait, but only if the rewards are substantial.
so: I don’t think spending too much time between seasons has a negative impact on the quality of the show, I think it’s actually beneficial because the writers and producers have enough time to think about things from the previous seasons that may not have worked as well. things and make adjustments that will help improve the story.
Personally, I don’t mind waiting a long time for the new season to premiere because I have a lot of episodes on my watchlist, so it gives me a chance to focus on other shows. I don’t think I’m the only one. Something that happens to me is that when I have to wait for that long, I tend to forget some details, scenes, and even characters from previous seasons, so I find it very helpful when the new season starts to include A recap of previous episodes, as it makes it easier to pick up where the rest of the story is, although it’s also possible that we’ll watch the entire story again before the new episodes air.
KK: It seems that many viewers may not be fully aware of the immense effort and complex coordination required to produce an episode of television. From the writer and director to the cast, crew and countless people behind the scenes, the process is a mammoth undertaking that requires time and precision. Although I really like such a wonderful performance hacker With 16 episodes per season, I simply can’t imagine how to pull it off without overworking the cast and crew and sacrificing the high quality we’ve come to expect. However, when a show only has eight episodes per season, two years of waiting for new content can be a bit frustrating for fans. In this case, I’d rather see four episodes released per year to keep the audience engaged and developing and building momentum.
Currently, very few TV shows with 16-22 episodes per season really work for me, which reinforces my belief that shorter episodes are worth it. Having fewer episodes allows more time and attention to be devoted to each episode, often resulting in better storytelling and overall quality.
Electric car: Personally, I hate the long wait between seasons. While I understand the situation, I don’t like waiting two years between season one and two.
In this day and age with so many good TV shows, I tend to lose interest very quickly. I guess this is a “me” question. However, if you want to retain your audience, don’t make them wait two years to find out what happens next.
programs like this slow horse There is a season every year, sometimes less than a year. If they can do that and produce high-quality, Emmy-worthy dramas, why can’t others?
People are craving a 22-episode season revival — but network TV is holding on! What are your favorite internet shows that run for 16-22 episodes (once a year)?
as: Most of the shows I watch that are still on network TV are ABC shows—9-1-1 18 episodes in total, rookie The event is held mid-season, but most are 22, and some are less than 16, but are still the most popular! Will Trent, “The Cleaning Lady,” “Irrational,” “Stalker,” and Elsbeth Just to name a few!
羅: 9-1-1 Is this the show for me? While I’ve been away from other network TV shows for a few years, this fall has inspired me to try something new, like Matlock, high potential, and small town murder— they all seemed interesting in their own way, especially given the involvement of actresses I greatly admire, like Caitlin Olsen, Kathy Bates, and Kristen Kreuk.
California: In delivering classic full season orders of 16 to 22 episodes, rookie One of my favorite internet shows to date. That’s a rare breed these days, especially in an era when many shows have shortened, concentrated seasons. rookie Not only did it keep fans satisfied with the longer episodes, but it also managed to maintain a high level of quality and character development throughout the series.
Fans love the blend of action, humor and heartfelt moments delivered by the amazing cast. With its procedural format and overall storyline, rookie A series of situational cases and character-driven plots are provided to keep viewers engaged week after week. Additionally, the commitment to delivering full episodes each year means the plots have plenty of time to simmer and develop throughout the seasons, keeping fans invested without long breaks.
displayed as law and order and chicago fire It has also continued to release 20+ episodes, proving that online TV can still provide the amount of content that audiences crave in the era of drama-seeking. For fans who miss the long seasons, these series provide great content year after year.
so: I’m not currently watching any long season series, but I think this is definitely the typical format for procedurals, as that’s how they’ve managed to retain viewers over the years and develop equally successful spin-offs, by creating a solid story long enough to Develop the character. Some good examples are Law & Order, FBI, Chicago, ETC.
Electric car: I must say I don’t watch any TV shows that are 22 episodes long, except reality shows which tend to be over 10 episodes. My ideal would be a 10 episode season, not too many or no filler episodes, just handling the story without too many distractions. If you haven’t noticed my answer to question 1, I have a short attention span 😉
ZF: I really miss the climax of the 22 episode season! Earlier this year I started going back to watch a lot of shows in the genre and found myself addicted to rookie and established. 9-1-1 Another very interesting one! Unfortunately, networking is just as risky as streaming these days—and as everyone moves to the latter, the number of networks is dwindling, making it harder to renew. The shows you have to stick with are the ones that do well online and on streaming, but have a schedule and atmosphere for fun online hilarity!
What notable TV moments happened in the past week? Are there any new works worth recommending? Is there a scene that shocked you? What are you looking forward to next week?

It’s hard to foresee what’s going to happen next, but things are still interesting. Episode five ends on a cliffhanger – if you know it, you know it – and I can’t wait to find out what happens this week. And, a big bad guy, part of many Wanda Vision The theory was finally mentioned Agatha has always been This surprised me a bit. Looking forward to it too 9-1-1 Next week: Athena’s life is in danger again, and I can’t wait to see how she’s going to escape.
California: 9-1-1 The chaos bee attack in Los Angeles this week absolutely blew my mind. From the very first scene – a dramatic mid-air collision between two aircraft caused by a swarm – you can tell it’s going to be intense. The episode then rewinds to show how everything unfolded while weaving in Athena’s return to work after all the trauma she’s been through. This was hands down one of the best premieres I’ve seen this season.
In contrast, the new show didn’t wow me. Dr. Odyssey In my opinion this was a big budget disappointment that didn’t live up to the hype. But I’m really looking forward to the premiere. established. Having already had a sneak peek, I can assure viewers that this will be exciting, engaging television. This is definitely worth a look!
