The publicity train is about to leave the station as Suits premieres on NBC next month, with the first footage released over the weekend.
Stephen Amell is the male protagonist of the show, playing Ted Blake. According to the plot synopsis, Ted Blake is a powerful former federal prosecutor from New York. “He has reinvented himself and represents the most powerful person in Los Angeles.” Powerful customers”.
“His company is in crisis, and in order to survive, he must accept a role he has despised his entire career,” the description continues.
“Ted is surrounded by a remarkable cast of characters who test their loyalty to Ted and each other, while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.”
“All of this is happening while the events of years ago slowly unravel, causing Ted to leave everything and everyone he loves behind.”
The trailer shows off Ted and the people around him, giving us the series’ take on the law in Los Angeles.
Still, it’s proven hard to separate the lead character from the character Stephen played effortlessly for eight seasons.
Suits may have sealed its fate
Yes, we’re talking about Oliver Queen and Green Arrow. Stephen chose a completely different pair of heels, which was a great way to show off the different nuances of his acting abilities.
But we’re not sure Suits LA is the right next step for him. The Suits franchise has thrived thanks to the former USA Network’s hit on Netflix.
Even though the show’s ratings soared to astronomical numbers, NBC kept Suits on the air years after it ended.
If the network wants to capitalize on the success of the original series, the new offshoot should have made a splash last year.
Let’s hope Ted is completely removed from Steven’s role on Arrow, because when Suits airs it will be very unsatisfactory for him as an actor and for the people who watch Suits.
The first shot shows Ted being cocky and willing to go to great lengths for his clients, which is very reminiscent of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), who will guest star in the spin-off.
‘Suits’ should focus on new characters before franchise alums
The first promo featuring actual footage from the show lasted just 30 seconds
However, NBC took this as an opportunity to say that, yes, Harvey Spector will be returning in some capacity, which is a bit of a slap in the face.
The focus should be on making Suits its own show within the universe, and character crossovers should be an afterthought because the show is already setting itself up for disaster.
Harvey is probably a much better character than most of the new characters in the Suits universe, so audiences will want more of him than they’ll get.
The only interesting aspect Harvey mentioned was that it teased the history between him and Ted.
Ted talks about Harvey in the past tense, implying that something happened to ruin their friendship, which means there should be fireworks when they meet in Los Angeles.
The cast of “Suits” includes Lex Scott Davis (“The L Word: Generation Q”), Josh McDermitt (“The Walking Dead”) and Brian Greenberg (“The L Word”) One Tree Hill”). Victoria Justice (Eye Candy) also appears in the trailer, but NBC only lists her as a guest star.
What was your first impression of Suits LA?
Should the show focus on its characters first and then tease the franchise’s appearances?
Suits premieres Sunday, February 23 at 9/8c on NBC.
