System of a Down announces 2025 South American “Wake Up!” stadium tour

System of a Down’s 2025 is starting to get really crowded. Chop Suey! announced on Monday (December 16) that they will be expanding on their recently announced slate of South American stadium dates, building on their already announced North American stadium dates.

Seven performances of Wake Up! The South American stadium tour is scheduled to kick off on April 24 at the Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Camping in Bogota, Colombia, followed by performances at the Estadio Nacional in Cercado de Lima, Peru. The tour will continue to Chile, Argentina and Brazil, ending with three shows in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. This concert will be SOAD’s first South American tour since 2015.

Fans can sign up for the pre-sale starting at 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday (8 a.m. in Peru), with general pre-sales starting at noon local time on Thursday (December 19).

The news follows the band’s announcement that their 2025 North American dates will kick off August 27-28 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with special guest Korn and two nights at Soldier Field in Chicago (8 31st to September 1st) with Avenged Sevenfold, and will make their final stop at Rogers Arena in Toronto with Deftones on September 3rd and 5th.

SOAD came to a standstill in 2006, with the band members splitting up to pursue side projects before reforming in 2011 to play a series of European festivals, followed by a string of festivals and sporadic headlining gigs over the next decade. Although after the release of the 2005 double album, they stated that they would return to the studio to work on a follow-up album, obsessed and Hypnosisas of press time, there was no information on the band’s as-yet-untitled sixth studio album.
