Tyler Perry Studios is launching Maxscene, a new specialty film division designed to help independent filmmakers develop, produce and distribute movies for theatrical audiences. The launch of Maxscene comes as the Atlanta studio continues creating new pathways for talent through efforts including its TPS Dreamers internship program and the infrastructure of its Black-owned studio complex.

Tyler Perry has never been one to stand still. Whether it’s reopening production during the pandemic, stepping up with millions in charitable giving during the recent government shutdown, or expanding one of the country’s largest independent studio lots, the filmmaker has consistently adapted to whatever comes next.

The Atlanta facility will use LED technology and real-time digital environments while keeping production crews central to the filmmaking process.
