Taylor Lindsey has been promoted to chairman and chief executive officer of Sony Music Nashville, effective January 2025.
Lindsay succeeds Randy GoodmanIt was announced in September that he would retire at the end of 2024 after more than 35 years in the music industry.
Lindsay will oversee Sony Music Nashville and Christian music company Providence Entertainment. CEO will be based in Nashville and will serve Rob StringerChairman of Sony Music Group.
Ken Robard Also named president and chief operating officer of Sony Music Nashville, reporting to Lindsey, responsible for overseeing the company’s operations, including Provident Entertainment.
Lindsay has A&R Supervisor He has been with the company since 2021, most recently as Executive Vice President.
Sony Music notes that she “works closely with the company’s diverse roster of recorded music icons, breakout acts and rising stars,” including Dominion Sr., Luke Combs, Megan Mulroney, Maren Morris, Ryan Hurd, and Mitchell Tenpenny, Among other things.
Prior to joining in 2013, Lindsey worked in the A&R department at BMG Publishing, representing Grammy-winning songwriters such as Hillary Lindsey and Tony Lane.
Lindsey has been recognized on Variety’s Hit Maker list, Billboard’s Women in Music and Country Power Players lists. She is the winner of the 2019 Leadership Music Class.
Meanwhile, Robold joined Sony Music Nashville in 2015 as executive vice president and chief operating officer, overseeing various divisions including business partnerships with digital service providers to provide opportunities for its artists.
Robold previously served as president of Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Artists and spent 22 years with Universal Music Group in various positions, including executive vice president and general manager of the Nashville-based company.
Robold is a past Chairman of the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Board of Directors and Chairman of the Leadership Music Board of Directors, and currently serves on the boards of the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The confirmation of Goodman’s departure from Sony and Lindsay’s promotion to the company’s CEO isn’t the only news of top management changes at Nashville’s major record label.
