Taylor Swift has become Spotify’s most played artist for the second year in a row, with more than 26.6 billion global streams since the beginning of 2024.
The streaming giant announced the news on Wednesday (December 4) as part of its annual programming launch wrapped Activity. The annual event highlights the top-performing artists, songs, albums and podcasts on the platform.

Spotify will be rolling out new features for this year’s Wrapped event. Artists can explore their year on Spotify through a personalized microsite, complete with share cards and data stories designed for easy sharing.
Share cards will include statistics such as total listeners, top fans, and top tracks. They will be available in 37 languages and presented as separate cards for each data story.
Spotify is also launching new data stories that allow artists to see their best-performing work clip And relive their biggest release week with a “New Releases” story.
Artists with a pre-save countdown page will see metrics like their pre-save count and their most influential videos.
Clips – vertical videos under 30 seconds launched by Spotify in March 2023 – will be part of the Wrapped 2024 campaign. Wrapped 2024 includes clips uploaded ahead of release, showcasing artist insights and fan interaction. These will also appear in Spotify profiles, playlists, etc. Participating artists include Peso Pluma, ROSÉ, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter and KAROL G.
Spotify has also relaunched Wrapped for Songwriters, which provides songwriters with interactive microsites, shared card generators and social events.
