Coldplay, Morgan Wallen, Noah Kahan, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and Zach Bryan are vying for the 2025 Pollstar Award for Major Tour of the Year.
This marks a fairly young list of nominees in the top categories. Rodrigo, Kahane and Bryan are all in their 20s, Warren and Swift are in their 30s, and the members of Coldplay are all in their 40s. The relative youth of these headliners, as well as the range of genres they represent – including pop, rock and country – are considered healthy signs for the tourism industry.
The Pollstar Awards recognize the most innovative and successful artists, tour groups, companies, venues and executives in the travel industry. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on February 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Impressively, Chappelle Rowan and Gracie Abrams were nominated for both Support/Special Guest of the Year and New Headliner of the Year, marking their meteoric rise to headliner status. Roan was nominated in the Support/Special Guest of the Year category for his opening act on Rodrigo, while Brams was nominated in the supporting category for his opening act on Swift.
Other nominees for New Headliner of the Year include Charli XCX, Fred Again, Sabrina Carpenter and London rock band Sleep Token. As a result, four of the six nominees for this year’s new headliners are women.
Elsewhere, three of this year’s six artist-in-residence nominees are at The Sphere in Las Vegas: Dead & Company, Eagles and U2.
“This year’s nominees once again represent the best of the best, showcasing the incredible talent, innovation and hard work that drives our industry,” said Ray Waddellis the Chief Content Director for OVG Media & Conferences, which produces Pollstar Live!, Production Live! and the Pollstar Awards.
A new honor this year is maxi singles Award – Touring PR Person of the Year, recognizing the highest achievements of field touring industry PR executives. The award is named in honor of the widely respected publicist for Scoop Marketing, who passed away on August 15 at the age of 37.
Nominations are submitted by the Pollstar Awards Nominating Committee, which is composed of agents, promoters, managers, producers, production professionals, venue representatives, Pollstar box office reporters and other touring professionals.
Pollstar subscribers can vote by logging into Pollstar.com to access their ballots. Voting is now open and ends on December 6th at 5pm PT. In addition to subscriber voting, data reporting and ticket sales will also be weighted elements of the final results in certain categories.
The Pollstar Awards Ceremony is a highlight of the three-day Pollstar Live! The conference is scheduled for February 18-20 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Registration is now open. Head to Pollstar.live to register and stay up to date on the latest announcements about keynote speakers, panelists, conference topics, and more.
