Teddy Swims and his partner, musician Raiche Wright, have announced that they are expecting their first child.
Wright shared the news via Instagram on January 8, posting a carousel of photos of the couple on the beach, with her growing baby bump clearly visible. “We can’t wait to meet you baby 🤍✨,” she wrote in the post, which was quickly met with outpourings of congratulations from fans and peers.
Schwems often cited his relationship with Wright as a source of inspiration and stability during Wright’s rise to fame. In a program in July Kyle and Jackie O Show“She did what I did, which was great,” Swims said of Wright. “Because it was like 3 o’clock in the morning and I called her and she said ‘Yeah, yeah, I’m in class. . I was recording vocals. I said, “Girl, get your shit together, baby.”
Wright is a singer-songwriter in her own right, best known for her 2023 album loveland. The couple went public with their relationship in early 2024, with Wright regularly touring with Swims and performing duets on stage.
The news caps off a banner year for Swims, whose soulful song “Lose Control” topped Billboard’s 2024 Hot 100 for the year.
The track spent 32 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 2024, the longest climb by a solo male artist. Spending an impressive 45 weeks in the top 10, “Lose Control” cemented its place in music history. The song also achieved global success, reaching number one in several countries and receiving diamond certification in France.
The honors don’t stop there. In addition to topping the Billboard Hot 100, “Lose Control” also made history by becoming the first song in nearly a decade to lead five airplay charts simultaneously: Radio Songs, Pop, Adult Pop, Adult Contemporary and Adult R&B music plays. The streaming numbers for “Swims” are equally impressive, with “Lose Control” becoming one of the most streamed tracks globally in 2023 and 2024.
