Now let’s solve this problem. For those of you who read my review of Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 7, I had no idea anyone could actually die!
I was as shocked as everyone else! So much happens in this finale that it’s hard to tell whose lives are on fire and whose lives aren’t.
It could be said that Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 8 dropped a nuclear bomb on the story. Not everyone walks away unscathed.
However, there is one character who deserves the title of MVP of Tell Me Lies Season 2. I can’t wait for Stephen to find out.
Diana did the damn thing as the only character to successfully screw over Stephen
Of course, I’m talking about my daughter Diana (Alicia Crowder)! She played a beautiful symphony of lies and misdirection. Oh, I just can’t describe how satisfying it was to watch.
Not only did she trick Stephen into thinking she failed law school and was disowned by her father, but she also ruined the psychopath’s chances of becoming a lawyer.
But she made him think that he broke up with her! I know Diana is too smart to fall for Stephen’s crap forever. As she told Stephen as she looked into his eyes: “There’s nothing behind them, is there?”
Of course, that means Diana has to return next season. We’ll have to see how Stephen takes the news!
Diana may have gotten a slap on the face in Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 6, but she’s still the smartest chick at Baird University!
Sadly, we didn’t get to see Pippa and Diana share an intimate moment this season, but we’re still excited for the future.
Still, Bree’s wedding looks like it’s going to be the end of the world.
Tell me lies should be renamed to shut up
Despite experiencing the most boring thing of the entire season, Bree and Oliver managed to bring an extremely toxic ending to their arrangement.
First, Oliver (Tom Ellis) is a sick man. I can’t believe he made Bree think they were sneaking around but she found out he had an open marriage! Something is not working right in that man’s mind.
The coup de grace was dealt when Oliver told Bree that he and his wife had talked about her. I know she asked, but he could have softened the blow. He doesn’t care about her at all.
As much as I would love to see Bree and Alvin together again, I need that handsome idiot to get the clue.
He was completely oblivious to Stephen’s manipulation. Alvin (Brandon Cook) should never have told Stephen about his relationship with Lucy. The poor guy even asked Stephen if he would use it to ruin his life.
How crazy is it that Stephen had to wait seven years to send Bree the tape of his conversation with Evan on her wedding day? Is this all just to hurt Lucy?
Lucy and Stephen are as toxic as a nuclear power plant. These two deserve each other.
Don’t even get me started on Lucy. I can’t believe she slept with Stephen before she reconciled with Leo and slept with him! Girl, you are such a mess!
First, she should bathe in bleach after sleeping with Stephen. God knows what the devil in meat suit wants to do.
Secondly, Lucy is not good enough for Leo (Thomas Doherty). She’s too toxic, too immature, and too picky. I’m especially angry that the character lets Leo get away from Stephen.
How cathartic was it to watch Leo tear Stephen’s face apart? I don’t care if it’s violent as hell. Stephen has needed his ass kicked for a long time.
That’s not enough, because when Lucy comes to his aid, the sociopath smiles! This bastard is evil and belongs on a different show.
The way Stephen (Jackson White) stares at people and stalks them is a lot like Michael Myers, but worse because Michael isn’t trying to ruin your life before killing you.
Anyway, back to Lucy. She is paving a path of destruction in 2015.
Tell Me Lies season 2 paves a rocky road for its characters if series is renewed
Now we come to the most shocking part of Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 8, Drew’s death. Again, when I said before that someone might die before the end of the season, I was only making a passing guess.
Never in a million years did I think the writers would bring Drew back just to kill him off! The writers of Tell Me Lies are pathological geniuses.
And poor Wrigley! What did the man behind the show do to that big, beautiful boy? He goes from being superfluous to one heartbreaking moment after another.
When Wrigley (Spencer House) wakes up next to his brother, the waterworks is running at full capacity. My jaw dropped to the floor and stayed there.
When Wrigley and Drew were drinking and taking painkillers at the bar, I thought something bad might happen on the silly side. I certainly didn’t see death on the menu!
The only saving grace is that Wrigley’s future seems genuinely happy. He was all smiles as he talked to Lucy about Pippa (Sonja Mena) and Diana being together.
This season of Tell Me Lies begins with a solid theme of hope and possibility. It’s sad to think that half the characters face a rough road.
In between Pippa’s attack, Lucy’s (Grace Van Patten) spiral, Wrigley’s end, Bree (Catherine Missal)’s involvement in a strange open marriage arrangement, and Between Stephen going to great lengths to annoy Lucy, Tell Me Lies season 2 is an emotional roller coaster ride.
I’ll give this series the credit it deserves. The writers know how to concoct a cliffhanger ending.
Whether or not Tell Me Lies returns for another season, I will always remember how incredible the storytelling was.
It takes professional planning to make the mundane lives of young college students as compelling as Tell Me Lies. See you all next semester!
What did you think of Stephen and Lucy in college and Bree’s wedding?
