Netflix’s hit action-adventure teen series Outer Banks is about to return for its fifth season. But this may not be the end for the Pogues family.
“We’re excited about Season 5, and we’re excited about the other stories in this universe,” series co-creator/executive producer co-creator and executive producer Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke said in an interview that the deadline coincides with the release of Season 4 Part 2.
They wouldn’t elaborate, but said they are exploring the idea of a potential spin-off series and other branches of the OBX universe. Sources reveal that no projects are currently in the works, but it would be logical for Netflix to try to expand one of its top series — something it’s already done with shows like Stranger Things and Bridgerton point and is exploring with Virgin River.
