The Doobie Brothers are preparing for their 16th studio album, and the band have revealed that Michael McDonald will return to sing on the newly announced album. go this way.
News of the band’s upcoming record was shared in a year-end wrap-up post on Facebook on Monday (December 30). “It’s hard to believe that another year has gone by like a rocket!” the band wrote. “We are currently celebrating our nearly 56th anniversary as a band. It’s been 55 years since we released our first self-titled album doobie brothers.
“It’s been a long and winding road since those early days, but we’re still working together, doing our best to stay creative and look forward to bringing our music to everyone again next year.”
The Doobie Brothers look back on their 2024 campaign – which includes nearly 60 live shows and the Eagles’ UK debut – before looking ahead to the year ahead and their plans for new music.
“This is the goal we have set for 2025,” the post continued. “This train keeps running on the tracks and we’re almost ready to release our new album go this way Sometime after the first day of the new year. We have 10 new songs sung by Tom [Johnston]Michael [McDonald]and Pat [Simmons]. The three of us wrote songs and collaborated together. We had a lot of fun recording it and we’re very proud of the result.
“John McPhee also showed off his incredible musical talent. Once again we turned to the amazing John Shanks, who produced, wrote and performed on these tracks with us. Luckily , we’re re-teaming with our friends at Warner Bros./Rhinoceros Records to release this release and we’ll probably have a song out soon after the beginning of the year, with the full album coming out sometime in the spring or summer.
