director Mike Flanagan Announcing a new version of his horror movie Shhh future. This is the version of the film originally envisioned by the filmmakers.
This new version Shhh This will be a black and white, nearly silent shot that should look really cool and interesting.
Flanagan shared the news on
“That’s how we originally envisioned the film. HUSH’s ‘Shush Cut’ debuts September 27 [Beyond Fest]we are honored to be a part of such a killer lineup!
“Hush” follows Maddie Young (produced by Kate Siegel), a deaf-mute writer who lives in a remote house in the woods. Maddie contracted meningitis when she was 13 and lost her hearing and ability to speak.
She lived a peaceful life, writing novels alone, until one night her peaceful life was broken by a masked intruder.
The story unfolds as the masked man discovers Maddie’s disability and uses it as an advantage in a cruel game. Maddie initially doesn’t realize there’s danger out there, but soon realizes she’s being followed. Unable to call for help and her home surrounded, she is forced into a deadly game of cat and mouse.
Maddie fights back using her other senses and quick thinking, determined to survive the night despite the overwhelming odds.
This is a great film that relies heavily on visual storytelling, and I’m looking forward to watching the new version of it.
The film will be released on physical home video in the U.S. on September 5 and will feature a “Shush Cut” as part of its Collector’s Edition.
