In “3 Women” Season 1 Episode 6, the three heroines – Lena, Sloan and Maggie – all strive to find happiness and freedom.
This installment features some raw and sexy lovemaking scenes and romantic drama, which is a huge plus.
However, going back and showing all three stories at the same time doesn’t work because as soon as I start investing in one story, it switches to another storyline.
This episode is all about love, sex and orgasms, from an innocent girl’s first time to learning how to feel cherished again.
Can a marriage survive with a partner like a Will?
I love Sloan and Will’s chemistry, but it’s hard to like her at times because Richard is such a devoted husband. She also wants to have her cake and eat it too.
Richard liked her so much that he changed his mind after seeing how Will turned their backyard into a winter wonderland for sledding parties.
Richard is worldly, so I’m not sure why he thought inviting Will to hang out with them wouldn’t complicate things. He had eyes and saw their chemistry, right?
Will didn’t care about the swing or the trouble it might get Lily.
All he wanted was Sloan. It’s a delightfully messy love triangle, with both men doing stand-up comedy and having chemistry with the female lead.
The cinematography and sets in Sloane’s storyline are some of the best, and the glistening snowy mountains as the three of them rush down the mountain are beautiful.
The scene changes from a freezing snowy field to a smoldering bedroom scene, where Sloan and Will begin to kiss while Richard watches awkwardly.
DeWanda Wise does a great job in these sexy dance and kissing scenes. While the relationship between Sloan and Will turns intense and heavy, she and Blair Redford develop chemistry.
Just like Lena did to Aiden, Sloan experienced an explosive orgasm. She always seemed freer and happier with Will.
However, if this is true, and this is more than just a desire or a fling, she must end her marriage to Richard.
Learn how to feel cherished after a loveless marriage
Lena finally reached her limit and broke up with Ed. He thought she would stay with him forever because he dared to laugh in her face.
As mentioned in the second episode of Season 1 of 3 Women, their marriage seemed outdated as Ed barely knew how to interact with his children.
No wonder Lena had such low expectations for a new relationship.
She had grown accustomed to hotel hangouts with Aiden, and this time he ordered food and wanted to talk about their future, which included taking her on vacation to a tropical island.
Hopefully he thinks so, because these things mean the world to Lena. She longs to feel wanted and cherished as much as she needs love.
It makes sense to see him ruffling her hair and hugging her before they continue making out. He made sure to take care of her needs and ensure her orgasm, as her needs had been ignored for so long.
Lena has never looked happier or in love. But Aiden is still married, and so is she. So, what’s next for them?
Reliving her close relationship with her teacher
Sloan and Lena’s sexual experience is hot and sexy. If it were with someone age-appropriate, Maggie’s might look like this.
However, her first meaningful physical relationship was with her high school teacher, Aaron Knodel. Although she lost her virginity in Hawaii, it was more of a learning experience.
When Sloan and Lena had just had their best sexual experience, Maggie was traumatized by recounting her experience in her testimony.
This looks like an episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” where Mr. Knodel’s attorney is more concerned with what she wears and what she says to attract him.
Maggie must feel like another woman because she is only allowed into the cold basement when his wife is out of town and his children are asleep.
He tries to make things romantic by choosing a movie and a gift for her that reminds him of their relationship, but it seems creepy.
He was the one who asked her to kiss him and take her to an empty room, but he insisted she seduced him and he wanted to wait until she was legally of age. You can’t have it both ways, man.
Maggie seemed hurt during her testimony that he was more concerned that she ruined the sheets than she was that it was her first time.
But she was not prepared for the fact that he made her read sonnets aloud in English class.
As she recounted the incident, she broke down and wondered why no one cared about her feelings.
Why this form breaks the emotional arc
While similarities between the characters’ work are often shown, the back and forth between the women in this episode seemed abrupt and erratic.
If the show wanted to highlight what the three women have in common, it would have been better to do it in 20-minute intervals like the first episode of Season 1 of “3 Women.”
We see similar storylines for each woman without an important scene ending abruptly and moving on to another scene.
It’s your turn, three female fanatics. What do you think of this sexy clip? Do you like different formats?
We’d love to hear your thoughts, so let us know in the comments.
