The second episode of Season 2 of Trackers takes a supernatural twist that adds significantly to the mystery and suspense. This week’s episode delves into UFOs (or UAPs as they call them), secret government cover-ups, and conspiracies, setting up an eerie and captivating atmosphere from the start.
The episode opens with a tense scene as Scott Palmer, a recently widowed man who turns his grief into an obsession with drones, ventures into a secret Department of Defense site, It’s all captured on camera, then a strange noise and bright light paralyze him. When Colter takes over the case of Scott’s mysterious disappearance, the ominous tone foreshadows what’s to come. As usual, Colter’s investigation was based as much on skepticism as on personal connections. Scott’s daughter reveals her father was increasingly paranoid about government surveillance and had a disturbing connection with astrophysics professor Dr. Iris Blair.

A subplot involving Renee and her sharp legal skills injects some much-needed levity into the episode, especially when she tutors a condescending male attorney. Renee brings in Colt’s brother Russell (played by Jensen Ackles), which adds an interesting dynamic, especially when Russell, the cocky yet lovable rogue antihero, suddenly Show up to rescue Colt from a shady Department of Defense facility. The chemistry between the brothers is always a highlight – Russell’s playful arrogance balanced by Colt’s seriousness.

There’s plenty of action and intrigue, especially in the third act, when Curt and Russell begin to uncover the truth behind Scott’s obsession. They find Scott waiting for a UFO to land, only for Colt to convince him to give up on his dream and prioritize his daughter, a scene that’s both tense and emotional. Colter’s battles with shady government agents add layers to the story, as it’s clear they want Colter to lead them to Scott for their own purposes.

All in all, Trackers continues to excel with its blend of suspense, sci-fi, and character-driven storytelling. The UAP storyline offers a fresh perspective on government intrigue, blending supernatural elements with personal gain. The show keeps viewers hooked as more mysteries about Colt and Russell’s father wait to be revealed, while also leaving enough unanswered questions to keep you coming back for more. If this episode is any indication, season two is going to be a thrilling ride. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this episode, so leave a comment or interact with me on Twitter/X @MiddleofCanada.
