B2B music streaming technology provider Tuned Global has launched a new social radio product that combines social media interactivity with personalized music streaming.
Tuned Global describes its social radio SDK as “a powerful tool that seamlessly integrates with existing music streaming platforms or radio applications to deliver a personalized radio experience.”
The new product integrates real-time social features like comments and emojis into broadcast broadcasts, creating what the company calls a “community-driven listening environment.”
Users can live stream their own playlists while instantly interacting with their listeners. Meanwhile, broadcasters can add voice commentary on tracks or between songs. Audiences can respond instantly through comments and emojis.
Launched in 2010, Tuned Global has become a major player in the B2B music streaming space. Other companies use its technology and licensing solutions to launch music streaming services or integrate licensed music into general digital services.
Tuned Global’s solutions include white-label music streaming applications and more than 500 premium API streaming services for businesses looking to integrate streaming capabilities and content, including music, radio, podcasts, audiobooks, video and live streaming. Tuned Global’s music backend has a catalog of over 150 million tracks.
The company’s new social radio product allows music and radio app users to access social messaging experiences within their existing apps, rather than using standalone social messaging apps like Clubhouse.
“We’re bringing the social experience of Clubhouse into the music or radio apps listeners already use, rather than trying to get them to adopt a new social media platform and build a community from scratch.”

“We’re bringing the social experience of Clubhouse into the music or radio apps listeners already use, rather than trying to get them to adopt a new social media platform and build a community from scratch,” said Con Raso, MD, Tuned Global, with MBW.
“Because users already use music apps on a daily basis, we are offering this technology to amplify user engagement rather than being the sole source of it. Users already have their own curated playlists and all the functionality of existing apps, social radio, and This is the basis. In addition to the currently licensed directory, all elements can have an impact on the user.
According to Tuned Global, social broadcasting features integrated into music and radio apps have the potential to transform “passive” users into “active and engaged community members” – thanks to a “social, interactive layer that allows people to engage more Listen in, come back often and discover more.” music”.
Tuned Global said the increased engagement “brings new monetization opportunities, including digital advertising, premium packages and more.”
The company’s social broadcast tools are powered by the company’s proprietary AutomixIQ technology for track transitions, comments and sound effects.
Tuned Global announced the launch of AutomixIQ SDK in July 2024.
“This advanced technology can turn any set of tracks into one that sounds like it was mixed by a professional DJ,” said Con Raso, MD, Tuned Global.

Raso further explains that AutomixIQ automatically analyzes track end and start points, creates “hundreds of possible transitions” based on multiple musical data points, and then selects the mix it thinks is the best.
This creates “complex yet smooth transitions between orbits,” Russo said. Raso added: “Without any jarring moments between tracks, apps and services allow music to play seamlessly and extend listening time and engagement. Our proprietary technology handles song transitions without the need to create derivative musical works , which eliminates additional licensing issues associated with song remixes.
Tuned Global says its AutomixIQ SDK can be added to any streaming service, including DSP, BGM, internet radio, fitness and gaming applications. In the case of social radio, tracks chosen by the mix creator are included in the experience.
Commenting on his short-term predictions for the impact of social radio on user engagement, Tuned Global MD Con Raso told us that the format “will redefine user engagement in the short term by turning passive listeners into active participants.”
He added: “Features such as listening rooms, live broadcasts and real-time interactions will drive rapid growth in user activity.
“Users will be able to create and share their own shows, interact with others instantly, and discover music in a more social and dynamic way. Increased engagement will lead to longer session times and re-use, increasing the stickiness of the platform.
Russo also predicted that social broadcast’s impact on monetization in the short term “will be driven by higher ad exposure for freemium users as they spend more time interacting within the app.”
He added: “The unique, differentiated content provided by social broadcasts will also add value to premium plans, encourage upgrades and create immediate revenue opportunities. Additionally, platforms can explore tipping systems or monetization of user-generated content to expand its sources of income.

In the long term, Russo predicts that social radio will “catalyze the growth of creator communities in music and radio apps.”
He also predicts that regular broadcasters and user creators will “become micro-influencers” by “engaging audiences and building loyalty over time.”
Russo added: “The platform will evolve into a hybrid space where music, social interaction and personalization intersect, attracting a young, digital-savvy audience.
“As these ecosystems mature, monetization will expand significantly. Advanced features such as replay options, co-hosting and exclusive content will support premium subscriptions.
“The platform will also benefit from enhanced data-driven advertising, where detailed user interaction data enables precise targeting. In addition, social broadcast opens up avenues for artist collaborations and brand sponsorships, leveraging its interactive nature to create new revenue streams.
