Alicia Arauso and Luis Fernandez Universal Music Spain has been appointed co-managing director of Universal Music Spain, the company announced on Tuesday (October 1).
According to the press release, Arauzo and Fernandez will “work closely” to develop and implement the company’s business strategy and creative direction, with “a focus on cultivating the division’s solid artist lineup” as well as the development of new talent. Both senior executives will be based in Madrid and will report directly to Jesus LopezChairman/CEO, Universal Music Latin America and Iberia.

Arauzo began her career at Spanish record label Hispavox in 1982 and joined Universal Music Spain in 1996, initially as International Marketing Manager. Her most recent position was general manager. Meanwhile, Fernandez joined Universal Music Spain in 2023 as head of A&R. Prior to joining UMG, he served as CEO and founder of Sonido Muchacho, an independent recording and music publishing company he founded in 2014.
