V and Park Hyo Shin end 2024 in a festive mood, which earns them a win advertising billboardMost recently voted by fans as the best K-pop song of the year.
Fans got into the spirit of the season and voted for V and Park Hyo Shin’s collaboration “Winter Ahead,” which won the competition with 50% of the vote. Following closely in second place was “Never Let Go” by Jung Kook, a member of V’s BTS band. ATEEZ’s “Ice on My Teeth” ranked third, followed by TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s “Deja Vu” and aespa’s “Supernova”.
V has long been vocal about his love of jazz and personally reached out to Park – with whom he has a “longstanding friendship,” according to a press release – to record “Winter Ahead.” The song was written by Jesse Harris, the songwriter behind Norah Jones’ contemporary jazz-pop staple “Don’t Know Why.”
The 29-year-old superstar also released a new book titled ” Type 1 All summer long. One post read: “V was involved in every step of planning and production, from choosing travel destinations to deciding on titles and components of the photobook, resulting in a 224-page photobook filled with his hopes and ideas. Various moments shared by ARMY.
Back in March, V released his first post-military single “FRI(END)S,” which was written entirely in English. This song follows his September 2023 EP Stopover.
In 2025, V will reunite with BTS band members after all of them complete their compulsory military service in South Korea.
