Are you after a hidden gem restaurant or bar in Vegas?
Every time I go to Vegas, I make sure to reserve a table at my favorite spot: Bouchon on the 10th floor of the Venetian Tower. This is the sophisticated French bistro concept that Thomas Keller brought to Vegas from Napa. I always go back to Bouchon because I feel like I’m away from the hustle and bustle of the strip and the food is delicious. My favorite dishes are the moules au safran (saffron mussels in white wine sauce with chips), croque madame and their crab benedict.
In Vegas you have to…
In Las Vegas, you have to dive into all the different casinos and fun atmospheres, watch unforgettable shows, and walk along the Strip, especially if it’s your first time in Las Vegas Gas
In Vegas, you should never…
Rule #1: Never gamble more than you are willing to lose. If you reach your loss limit, leave and come back another day!
What is the most accurate stereotype about Vegas, and what is the least accurate?
The most accurate stereotype of Vegas is “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
The most inaccurate stereotype is that Vegas is just casinos and nightclubs. There’s more! Red Rock Canyon is nearby and I had one of the best hikes there.
Which movie or TV show accurately depicts (an aspect of) Vegas?
Martin Scorsese’s epic crime drama casino Definitely captured the real side of Las Vegas and did it very well. To some extent, this is also true the Hangover – It was a fun, gross and wild adventure that I thankfully didn’t experience! The comedy was filmed at Caesars Palace, which I hear is perfect for pagers.
The best place to experience the real Vegas?
Best place to experience real Vegas is Fremont Street, also known as “Old Vegas.” You should definitely check out the historic casinos including the Golden Nugget and the Neon. This famous stretch of road is a fashionable hangout for rat packs, gangsters, showgirls and more! Fremont Street is now open to pedestrians only and is home to some famous attractions, including the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum.
