Are you still shocked by the ending of Viking River?
There was a lot to unpack in the final episode, and the series left us with some cliffhangers.
What does Mel and Jack’s future look like after Marelli’s proposal? How would Brie react to Mike? And what happened to Charmaine Sheh? Let’s take a look at all the highlights.
On Virgin River Season 6 Episode 10, Jack and Mel finally tied the knot, and the long-awaited event became a real celebration (that is, once the runaway couple took a breather Return to the altar).
But for others, the reception was also filled with drama.
The gripping plot keeps us on the edge of our seats!
Skylark stole Brady’s money and disappeared
Brady is one third of the series’ biggest love triangle, and he realizes that sometimes no matter what you do, you fail.
Before the wedding, he and Brie had a heated and passionate exchange where they talked about how they slept together and cheated on their spouses.
They express some guilt, but more importantly, Brady admits that he will always love Brie and that he can’t stop loving her. It was a raw and honest moment for the pair, with fans of the ship hanging on every word.
The thing is, Lark heard the conversation too. Although Brady forgave her for initially cheating on her baby daddy at his direction, she was hurt when she realized Brady would never love her the way he loved Brie and that maybe he was content with her.
Oblivious, Brady didn’t realize that Luck had been giving him the cold shoulder throughout the wedding and reception.
He also didn’t realize that giving his phone to Lark’s daughter, Hazel, to play games would be counterproductive.
An injured Luck reneged on his promise, hacked into Brady’s bank account, emptied it, and absconded with all his money. She left town with Hazel and was presumably never heard from again.
Brady is broke, heartbroken, and single!
Mack knew about Brie and Brady’s hookup…but proposed anyway
Meanwhile, Brie and Mike encountered some drama at the reception.
Brie is still reeling from her conversation with Brady, she feels guilty about her infidelity, is having a hard time with Mac, and is still lying to him. She confided in Mel and Kaia, and Mel let her know that if she couldn’t choose between any man, the best thing to do would be to let them both go.
Brie seems to have come to terms with this, and she may have considered implementing the advice when she spent time with Mike.
When the two were alone at the reception, Mike was basking in the joy of the day, confessing his love for Bree and proposing to her with a twist tie.
Brie eventually admitted to him that she slept with Brady and couldn’t accept his proposal until she told him the truth about her infidelity. But shockingly, Mike told her he already knew she slept with Brady.
Apparently that didn’t stop him from proposing to her, and he left Brie speechless by not answering the all-important question.
Gosh, he left us speechless too. For one, proposing at someone else’s wedding is a low-key, tacky act. On the other hand, is this some kind of power move to assert dominance once and for all in order to get the girl, or is he actually accepting the offer?
As Brie continues to struggle emotionally with not only her love for two men, but also making peace with everything that happened in her past, including sexual assault, miscarriage, and other trauma, is she ready for marriage?
Evil forces are attacking doctors and practices
The Doctor and Hope survive the wedding reception, but the next day brings new challenges that will change things for season seven.
The doctor received a letter telling him his medical license had been revoked pending an investigation.
The doctors at Grace Valley seem to be interested in Doc, and it’s not just Doc doing emergency surgery and saving a person’s life.
Hope got the call because the other person thought she was just the mayor and had nothing to do with the doctor. They shared that the real plan was to expand a larger hospital network through Grace Valley to Virgin River and force the doctor out of his clinic to implement the plan.
It’s safe to say that, 30 years later, Doc won’t go down without a fight.
Marley offers Mel a chance at motherhood, but is it a trap?
But the happy couple has the biggest suspense in the finale.
After a wonderful wedding night with her husband, Mel had just woken up when a new problem appeared on her doorstep.
Or it could be a new opportunity.
Marley, her pregnant patient and surrogate mother to a neurotic helicopter couple, Darla and Phil, arrives at Mel’s house in a panic.
Darla and Phil appear to have shockingly changed their minds about having a baby soon.
But Marley brought a solution, not just a problem. She wanted Mel to have the baby.
Mel is speechless at the offer and we wonder what she will say and how she will respond.
Why don’t Phil and Darla want this baby? Will Mel and Jack finally have a chance to have a child of their own?
Jack discovers something worrying about Charmaine
Poor Jack also gets a scare in the finale’s biggest and final cliffhanger.
The couple finally realized it was odd that Charmaine didn’t show up to their wedding, especially since she volunteered to style Mel’s hair.
Throughout the season, they brought up Charmaine’s custody issues with Calvin and Calvin’s harassment of her. She even filed for a restraining order against him.
Jack shows up at Charmaine’s house, the door ajar, and he looks around for her. She didn’t respond to his calls and he noticed that the entire house was destroyed.
It seemed like someone was having a violent attack, or perhaps a knock-down, drawn-out battle.
Jack walked to the twins’ room, opened the door, and heard a lullaby playing from the music box.
He was shocked, maybe even horrified, by what he saw. The final scene cuts to black as we contemplate what Jack has witnessed.
Is Charmaine Sheh still alive?
Was Charmaine injured, beaten, or even killed? The twins are long gone?
The fate of Charmaine and the twins hangs in the balance until next season.
It’s a fascinating cliffhanger because the usually polarizing character Charmaine is now someone we actively root for and hope she’s okay.
Charmaine’s fate is the biggest suspense yet, and we’ll have to wait until Virgin River Season 7 to get the answer.
Over to you, Viking River fanatics. What do you think of these suspense stories?
