2024 movies watchman It’s weird, but ultimately boring. Its title might be: If you go into the woods…” Although this may be false advertising, as the latter title promises a big surprise. watchman Unfortunately failed to deliver.
story
Artist Mina travels to a Dublin zoo to deliver a collectible bird. On the way into the forest, her car broke down. Mina grabbed the bird and started walking. A woman appears from nowhere and tells her to run. She did, but fell into a trap.
She was imprisoned along with three others, all of whom were imprisoned for considerable periods of time. They are all being watched by “monsters”.
All but one of them escaped.
main actors
Dakota Fanning as Mina and Lucy
Georgina Campbell plays Ciara. If Georgina looks familiar, it’s the 2022 horror movie she starred in in “The Wild Ones.”
Olwen Fouéré plays Madeleine.
Daniel, played by Oliver Finnegan, is very cheeky.
and:
John Lynch (who has an amazing face) is Kilmartin.
behind the scenes
Ishana Shyamalan co-wrote and directed the film. (Her co-author is believed to be the book’s author, AM Shine.) If Isana’s name sounds familiar, that’s because she’s following in her father’s horrific but sometimes brilliant footsteps. M. Night Shyamalan is Ishana’s dad and provides mostly descriptive content to The Happening at times. *The movie where Mark Wahlberg battles disaffected pollen. I won’t mention substandard things. lady in water……oops.
Still, Ishana got off to a shaky start with the arrival of Shyamalan. watchman Featuring big name stars and set in America’s favorite “go to” place; Ireland. We have fairies, most likely spelled “faeries”, who want to be us.
So far, so good.
but.
This one is insufficient.
It works best when we can’t see the “monster.” Although they are unknown entities, they are even more frightening. However, once we learn what they really are, their threat becomes less apparent; while still very visible, it has diminished. Ultimately, it’s boring.
judgment
watchman It’s a rocking 3 stars out of 5. But sadly, it’s a bit boring. Another movie that might have been better on TV. Horizon, anyone? watchman Playable on Max.
