2020 comedy body-swapping horror film weird It’s funny, but, it’s weird. Funny in places and disturbing in others, it’s a weird mix of meta and a little disturbing.
That being said, I first watched it over a year ago and loved it. I never got around to reviewing it. weird Then it was forgotten. Until; YouTube favorite “What Culture” mentioned it in a “10 Movies” roundup, so I decided to watch this Blame Friday Restore again. *Side note: I wrote a brief piece about them a long time ago. Even so, before YouTube, they were still playing the old “numbers game.”

it works
Directed by Christopher Landon, who co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Kennedy, weird A few tropes and a few clichés are used. Despite the nod and push towards the trope small town, the film succeeds.
The school environment is reminiscent of Wes Craven’s school scream. Millie’s mom, Chloë, has a drinking problem, just like A Nightmare on Elm Street; another Craven classic.
This movie is a mixture of a scary and funny movie. touch Friday the 13ththe aforementioned scream (Come to think of it, that’s kind of like the entire series.) There’s even Halloween. Although Bear McCreary’s orchestrated and lively score better embodies scream poetry.
choreographer
The stunt choreography is spot on. Every fight scene is amazing and feels like it’s real. Messy yet intricate. The Butcher’s almost effortless murder spree is cold and carefully planned. Later, when the two protagonists switch bodies, Millie has to work harder, but she displays the same ruthless attitude as Vaughn’s serial killer.
No, really, it’s me
Two leads; Vaughan and Newton did a great job selling the swap. Vaughn effortlessly transforms into a 17-year-old girl. Newton convincingly transforms into a ruthless and ruthless serial killer. Without these superb depictions, weird Won’t work, or will be disturbing.
Kudos to both actors for killing it. (No pun intended.)
weird Feel Old school. It’s like a time-travel movie. There’s an 80s/90s feel to it, which makes this movie great.
judgment
I have no problem giving weird I give it 5 stars just for the clever and interesting plot. Everything here pretty much comes together for a great popcorn time. Universal and Blumhouse knocked this movie out of the park. The film is streaming on Peacock, Bravo, E and more.
