Shakira caps off 2024 with a bang and reclaims her throne advertising billboard She hit the Latin music charts with “Soltera,” marking her 24th No. 1 on the charts.
With this feat, the Colombian global superstar continues her streak of most female No. 1 singles since the chart’s inception in 1994. Karol G is the closest female competitor with 18 first place finishes. The latter’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” spent 23 weeks at No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart, before “Soltera” topped the chart on January 4, 2025.
Overall, Shak and Maluma are tied for sixth place, both behind J Balvin (36); Ozuna (34); Enrique Iglesias (32); Daddy Yankee (28); and Bad Bunny(25).
In 1998, Shakira scored her first No. 1 on the Latin airplay charts with “Ciega, Sordamuda” and went on to have three consecutive hits without collaborators: “Tú” (1998), “Suerte” 》 [Whenever, Wherever](2001) and “Que Me Quedes Tú” (2002).
In 2005, her collaboration with Alejandro Sanz “La Tortura” reached the top of the charts. The emotional song remains the longest-running number one on the charts, at 25 weeks.
Shaq’s other No. 1 hits on the chart (the most popular songs of the week ranked by Latin radio listener impressions) include “Hips Don’t Lie”; “Loba”; with Carlos Vives Collaboration “La Bicleta”; Maluma-assisted “Chantaje”; the unapologetic “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”, helmed by Bizarrap; and the all-girl collaboration “TQG” with Karol G, to name a few.
