Film festivals are a really fun way to get your film out into the world. The great thing is that they are shown on the big screen and many people around the world see your films. Our latest feature film Tabernacle 101 Screened at 24 film festivals Internationalized and won 12 Best Film Awards See poster. A festival director from a top 100 film festival emailed me the following reference Tabernacle 101
Dear Colm,
It was a pleasure watching your movie “Tabernacle 101”. The film has a mesmerizing supernatural element that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The visual and sound effects are great. The script, editing, technique, and especially your directing are all fascinating. All players performed well and deserve a round of applause. This is what art cinema is about. Keep up the good work. Eagerly looking forward to seeing more of your films.

It’s great for me as a filmmaker to get that kind of feedback.
So how do you get your movie seen?
- use movie highway website to Attend film festivals
- This is the crown jewel site for participating in film festivals.
- Use their marketing services to promote your film
- Film festivals offer discounts and sometimes even free admission if you promote it.
- If you attend 30 film festivals, you can actually save on admission fees.
I have nothing to do with movie highway In addition to using the site to enter and market my own movies.
- Over time, attend 30 – 50 film festivals. The more, the better.
- Some people will reject your movie, but
- A 50% acceptance rate means you have achieved great success and won many awards.
Some people may only have a 5% hit rate. That’s still a success and your film will get into film festivals. This puts you in a different category from the 80% of other films that never make it to a film festival. You will get credit on your poster and people will want to see your movie. This will enhance your resume and film career.
As you can see in the poster for our latest feature film Tabernacle 101, the film was made by Advanced Film course students and we successfully screened it at 24 film festivals. From this we won 12 Best Film Awards. This number has certainly increased since we created the poster.
