Why your movie needs a really good trailer and poster
When marketing a short or feature film, you need two basic items.
You will need a poster and trailer to enter the festival on the Film Highway website. Additionally, you will need a Posters and trailers Used to contact film distributors and promote your films and press kits. These are necessities.
This takes some work, depending on the movie you need invest a week to complete both. Most people have day jobs, so you have to work after hours. Invest your time and a $400 budget, and you’ll have a killer trailer and poster within a week.
Trailer: Putting in the work 3 days a week
The trailer is like an Add. It should make people want to see your movie.
Short films must be less than one minute and feature films must be less than two minutes. A great trailer would have sold Sizzle. It will have the best moments of your movie. It doesn’t tell the story. Just like advertising, it makes the audience actually want to see your movie.
In movie theaters, you often see some trailers before the main movie starts.
After watching the first trailer, you decide you have to see this movie.
Instead, after seeing the second trailer, you decide not to watch the movie.
One trailer works but the other doesn’t.
I now cut my own trailers and have gotten better at doing it over time. But I always pay to hire professional sound designers and mixers to create the sounds for my trailers.

The second marketing tool is posters. You have to work on this for a day
If you are a graphic artist, you can certainly create your own poster. Most of us are not, so you need help.
Fivver is a great place to create posters. Check out their website and look for the person who made the poster. When I looked at it today, there were several people making great posters, some of which were outstanding. Always go for luxury service so you can land a good job. It’s really cheap.

First, find a poster from a previous movie that you like and send it to the poster artist on Fivver. Provide images you might want to use in your movie. You’ll also need to provide copy such as the title, synopsis, cast names, and director’s names.
