Will Trent begins with a high-stakes case, and while some think the case is closed, Will has other ideas.
In Will Trent Season 3 Episode 1, Will and Faith discover footage of Raphael Wexford’s daughter Sonny with duct tape over her mouth.
Will Trent Season 3 Episode 2 spoilers tease that the GBI and Marion Alba team up to save Sonny while uncovering dark secrets that show just how corrupt their law enforcement agency has become.
Could this explain why Will needs him in Atlanta?
Additionally, Angie petitions the board for permission to rejoin the police force.
She seems to have been sidelined as a security officer, so hopefully she’ll be a cop again soon.
The race to find the sun begins
To save Sonny, the GBI and Marion need answers from Rafael, but he’s afraid her captors will hurt her if he speaks.
He’s ready to admit to killing a police officer to protect his daughter, so getting much help from him might be difficult.
Judging from the weekly promos and the Will Trent season 3 trailer, the case looks to have an intense ending as Faith and Will enter a home and find evidence that Sonny has been kidnapped.
Other shots show how scared the teen looks, and we’re sure Will and the team will do whatever it takes to get her back to his friends.
Faith and Will also appear to find themselves in danger as they rush to rescue the teen.
Assuming they survive, will this be the catalyst to repair their relationship? We miss their friendship.
Be careful who you trust, because there are rats in the army
As the GBI team works the case, dark secrets are revealed and they don’t know who to trust as their preconceived notions about law enforcement are shattered.
This is especially difficult for Will to handle because he became an agent who helps people and views police as law-abiding citizens, whereas Faith and Amanda have dealt with dirty cops before.
Marion Alba had suspected corruption ever since Chester Flynn contacted her about his department, but he was subsequently murdered before charges could be brought.
This makes it easier for the department to blame the murders on reputed gang leader Raphael Wexford, but as the evidence piles up, it seems there may be a dirty cop in the middle.
No one wants to think that a colleague may be responsible for the murder of one of their own or the kidnapping of a young girl, and the GBI needs to exercise caution when discussing this case.
Marion might even lose her job if the wrong people don’t like her for letting the case go unsolved instead of just arresting Raphael Wexford.
Can the GBI and Marion Alba prove their case and catch the real killer before he becomes a target?
Will and Marion Alba make a great team to interrogate suspects
After their first meeting, Will and Marion Alba seemed to make a great partnership.
While Will is more rigid, she is more spontaneous and will sometimes check the room while the suspect works. However, you can’t always have a strategy.
We’re not sure how the male suspect is related, but since Marion claimed his fingerprints were on the murder weapon, he could be an accomplice.
She tries to charm him by showing him pictures of Sonny and asking him to help them, but like most suspects, he’s uninterested and defiant.
Interestingly enough, Marion and Will go outside and start talking about Betty, leaving the suspect in deep thought.
He had to change his mind because suddenly he was eager to share the intel with them.
Generally speaking, Will has more plans, so it’ll be fun to watch him improvise. I think fans of Gina Rodriguez will enjoy seeing her and Ramon banter with each other.
Angie appeals her case to disciplinary committee
Even after watching just one episode, I’m tired of Angie only having a few scenes and being isolated from everyone else.
Hopefully she will be back on the force soon and interact with more members of the team when she makes her case to the board.
This must be a challenge for Angie. Although she regrets the deaths of many other men, she initially believes she is protecting Crystal from the same killer who attacked her years ago.
Angie has always protected victims who cannot speak for themselves, and she believes she has done so again. But her actions do more harm than good, and are blurred by her own trauma.
The board may not care why, but only if she remains objective and professional in the future.
Can Angie change that much and commit?
This is an ideal second half of Will Trent‘s season three premiere, with more action and rich character arcs.
Over to you, Will Trent fanatic. Who do you suspect framed Raphael Wexford and kidnapped his daughter?
How soon do you think Angie will rejoin the force?
