Wizkid and Brent Faiyaz’s “Piece of My Heart” tops this week’s New Music poll, which features artists spanning a variety of music genres.
In a poll released on Friday (October 18), music fans voted advertising billboardpicked the duo’s cool R&B bop as their favorite new music of the past week.
“Piece of My Heart” received nearly 85% of the vote, with Bruno Mars and ROSÉ (“APT”), Kylie Minogue (Zhang Li Er), Morgan Warren (“Love Someone”), Gracie Abrams (Our Secret (Deluxe Edition)), and others.
“Piece of My Heart” was released on October 18 and is the lead single from Wizkid’s upcoming sixth studio album. Morayo. The upcoming album is expected to be released on November 22 via Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records.
The tight love jam doesn’t shy away from old-school R&B fun, allowing the Nigerian superstar to showcase his nimble flow. “Nothing can keep us apart/You have my heart/Nothing can keep us apart (nothing in this world)/You have my heart (girl for you),” Faiyaz sings the chorus.
Wizkid has only appeared in a few collaborations this year, from his third album “MMS” with Asake, lungu boycollaborated with Shenseea to release the second album “Work Me Out”, It’s never late here.
