Friends pictures in 2024 Wolves Brad Pitt and George Clooney bickered until the end of the movie. Make no mistake, though, this is a friend photo through and through. This also owes a lot to William Goldman and his iconic Westerns, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Writer-director Jon Watts is clearly a fan of Goldman’s script and the 1969 film directed by George Roy Hill. although Wolves This isn’t an entire movie dedicated to “original” buddy scenes, there’s a lot of love shown here.
*Though there is also a bit of love for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. This is another buddy movie that I really enjoyed. it is related to Wolves As far as a near perfect movie goes, everything comes together.
story
A would-be politician finds himself living in a hotel room with a recently deceased young man. (No, he’s not a prostitute.) She calls a “fixer” or “cleaner” to fix the problem.
Seconds after he started cleaning up the scene, another repairman arrived. Two testosterone-fueled men immediately began competing. They end up working together at work, much to each other’s annoyance.
main actors
In order of appearance:
Amy Ryan is the politician solving this problem.
George Clooney, Margaret’s man, was the first to arrive on the scene.
Austin Abrams is the dead child/boy.
Brad Pitt, Pam’s man, was the second “expert” to arrive.
Poorna Jagannathan is June; the bullet puller.
buddy western
For all intents and purposes, Watt gave us a “buddy western” in terms of story, character interactions, and homage to other buddy movies. The almost accidental pairing of the two leads also feels like a nod to the ocean (fill in the numbers here.)
The reason I compare it to Butch and Sundance is because of the companion-like feel to them, especially one scene in particular. *No, I’m not going to say which one would annoyingly cross into spoiler territory.
Both actors played their roles with almost joyful aplomb. Pete’s near-constant killing spree is matched by Cloney’s eye-rolling. The underlying trend of “these two could be the same person” works just as well as their almost obnoxious personalities.
major honors
Austin Abrams plays “Dead Man” very well. The entire movie allows him to demonstrate his acting skills almost comically. The action presented in the script was also praised. Wyatt makes the most of his creation here Wolves is an interesting movie.
Everything works fine. The cinematography, editing and score come together beautifully. It’s this perfect blend that allows us to appreciate these two almost two-dimensional characters. This isn’t Shakespearean, but it illustrates why movies were invented.
this is entertainment
Wolves It’s pure entertainment. Although I admit I have some annoyance with the title itself. Of course, I suppose, a lone wolf times two is how many wolves there are, but the plural of wolf is wolf. The Albanian gangster even shot at the two people while shouting: “Wolf! Not friends! Even his The character knows the wolf is wrong.
Grammatical differences aside, this is top-notch work. I’m probably the only reviewer around who likes this. Five stars is probably too little for this friend picture, which is currently playing on Apple TV.
