Billboard Latin Music Week 2024 officially came to a close on Friday (October 18) with a star-studded concert starring Ana Mena, Belinda, Elvis Crespo, Floyymenor, Tito Double P and Young Miko.
The evening was hosted by Venezuelan comedian George Harris, who entertained a packed Fillmore Miami Beach with relatable musical jokes and even sang salsa karaoke with the crowd.
Not long after, Spanish artist Ana Mena kicked off Billboard’s Latin Music Week 35th Anniversary celebration with her sweet dance-pop, including her hit “Madrid City” — and yes, some were spotted in her performance People wear ponytails.
Floyymenor, who hails from Chile, then took center stage and performed three of his songs that have caused a stir on social media: “Peligrosa,” “Apaga El Cel” and “Gata Only.” The latter of the three songs spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and is a three-time finalist for the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which airs on Telemundo on Sunday (October 20).
Belinda attended Latin Music Week earlier this week, arriving in a baby blue satin dress and white knee-high boots. While she was giving off pop princess vibes, the Mexican artist showed off her fierce Belika days on stage, performing “Cactus,” “300 Noches” (her collaboration with Natanelle Cano) and “La Mala”.
Using only an acoustic guitar, Tito Double P (who participated in a panel with Peso Pluma earlier this week about the New Mexico music movement) delivered an intimate, minimalist performance that left the audience wanting more. During his set, the Corridos breakout star performed several of his biggest hits, including “Escápate” from his debut album, uncomfortablethe album debuted at No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums charts and No. 20 on the All-Genre Billboard 200 Albums chart.
The night continued with Young Miko’s much-anticipated performance, who energized the crowd with songs like “Offline,” “Classy 101,” and “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 1.” 58. The Puerto Rican rapper and artist participated in Latin Music Week’s Superstar Q&A, where she discussed her growing success. “In fact, if you think about it, the growth of social media has been so sudden, rapid and global that it definitely looks like it happened overnight as far as social media is concerned. But in fact, we started in 2018 I’ve been making music since 2019, and Young Miko really started to gain a lot of momentum about three years ago,” she said during the panel discussion.
Global merengue star Elvis Crespo capped off the 35th anniversary celebrations by bringing the entire venue to its feet with a live band and dancers of all ages stand up. Crespo performed timeless tropical tunes such as “Luna Llena,” “Nuestra Cancion” and “Tu Sonrisa.”
