YouTube will bring in talent from Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to help it build a tool to identify AI-generated content, including AI deepfakes of celebrity faces.
YouTube said that as part of the partnership, “several of the world’s most influential people” will have access to technology that YouTube is developing to “identify and manage” artificial intelligence-generated content.
“They will provide important feedback to help us build detection systems and refine controls.”
CAA is one of the most prominent artist management companies in the United States and represents numerous artists, including ariana grande, beyonce, bob dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Charlie XCX, Dua Lipa, miley cyrus, Featherweight, Queen, Sabrina Carpenter, Shabuzeand weekendetc.
YouTube said the agency also represents sports talent and that early next year, “top talent” from the NBA and NFL, as well as “leading celebrity talent” will begin testing YouTube’s tools to detect artificial intelligence-generated content.
Notably, YouTube said the program with CAA – a first-of-its-kind partnership – is “the first step in a larger testing effort” in which the platform plans to bring in other groups of testers, including YouTube creators , creative professionals and “other key partners representing talent.”

The partnership with CAA continues YouTube’s collaborative approach to developing and managing artificial intelligence.
The company has engaged with artists, creators and copyright holders on a variety of projects, including universal music group and Warner Music Group Music-related artificial intelligence tools were developed last year. News reports earlier this year suggested YouTube was in talks with three record labels to license music for its artificial intelligence tools.

YouTube has also played a leading role in protecting the rights of rights holders in the age of artificial intelligence. Earlier this year, it launched a system that allows people to request removal of content that mimics their likeness or voice.
