Boo! Audible Theater will present A Ghost in Your Ear, a new immersive horror play written and directed by Jamie Armitage, at the Minetta Lane Theatre off Broadway this fall from September 29 to November 15.
A Ghost in Your Ear is set at a recording session for the audiobook of a ghost story. As the actor records the book into the night, the horrors escape the page and start to haunt the studio. Audiences experience the show wearing headphones, creating a chillingly intimate world of sound.
The play is a collaboration between Armitage and Tony Award-nominated sound designers Ben and Max Ringham (A Doll’s House, Prima Facie), and it also has lighting design by Ben Jacobs.
A Ghost in Your Ear ran to acclaim in London earlier this year, and Audible’s production marks its New York debut. After the in-person run, Audible will release A Ghost in Your Ear as an audio drama on its online platforms at a later date to be determined.
