The new movie serves up another summer of music, romance, and friendship.
What’s the plot ofCamp Rock 3?
When Connect 3’s opening act bails out at the last minute, the band heads back to Camp Rock to find fresh talent for their national tour. The competition heats up as an ambitious newcomer Sage goes all in, even if it means clashing with her brother Desi. Sage plus bad-boy guitarist Fetch, cello prodigy Rosie, and energetic drummer Cliff make the quest for the spotlight emotional and intense. But as friendships form and feelings build, the campers must decide if there’s more to life than winning.

Jason Gray is the third returning member of Connect 3. Alongside Shane and Nate, he returns to Camp Rock after the band’s opening act drops out, putting him right in the middle of the movie’s new talent search.

Exclusive Interview With Liamani Segura & Malachi Barton
What was it like having Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers on set?
Liamani Segura:It’s so inspiring for us, the new generation. Having them backing us up and passing the torch to us felt so crazy and full circle.
How have past Disney projects prepared you for these lead roles?
Malachi Barton:Camp Rockwas the first moment that I was kind of [a] big brother on set. It was so cool.
Segura:So real.
Barton: It was the first chance I had to actually be able to step into that role. It was so fun.
What was it like putting your spin on classic Camp Rock songs?
Barton: In those moments when we were doing these OG songs, this is gonna sound so cringey, but it felt like a party. There’s a different connection we have to the OG songs, because [we] really grew up with [them], and the second you start playing, you’re ready to go.
Segura:Everybody knows the lyrics, everybody’s giving it their all. It all comes together.
What do you hope fans take away from your characters?
Segura:With Sage, over the course of the film, she finds her true self. She’s like, “I can have goals and dreams, but I need to live in the moment.” That’s really important, so that’s what I hope fans take away from it.
Barton:There is such power in music. When I’m going through something, music can change my mood instantly. Something so special that a lot of kids should know is that truly music can change your life.
