Chyron has announced a phased rollout of its technology at Torneos, a Latin American sports broadcaster and WAIKEN ILW company. Torneos selected Chyron following a review to replace a legacy graphics system. Chyron PRIME will power broadcast graphics, touchscreen presentations, and video walls across Torneos’ Latin American broadcast facilities. Chyron VSAR will drive virtual environments and augmented and extended reality elements. Chyron CAMIO will serve as the orchestration tool for all visual elements within show rundowns.
“We are focused on delivering the best graphics solution to our customers. At Torneos, we have built our reputation on providing distinctive sports coverage that goes beyond the game itself. The visual experience and entertainment value must be exceptional, which made this a particularly important decision for us. We were looking for a solution that would not only meet our customers’ current needs, but also enable us to anticipate the challenges of the future,” says Roxana Malek, Graphics and Design Manager, Torneos.
The first phase covered DSPORTS’ FIFA World Cup 2026 production from June 11 through July 19. Torneos produced all DSPORTS shows from a studio built in New York City’s Soho district — converting an empty loft into a virtual production facility within 72 hours. Commentators appeared in virtual stadium environments, with Chyron VSAR powering sets crafted by the Torneos team using Unreal Engine.
“With Chyron VSAR as the platform for our virtual sets, we achieved a highly efficient workflow. VSAR’s compatibility with vanilla Unreal allows us to make adjustments directly within the VSAR interface, without having to return to Unreal. Given the project’s tight schedule, this capability represented a significant advantage,” says Malek.
The second phase launched August 27 in coordination with a DSPORTS brand refresh. Several Torneos designers achieved Chyron PRIME Black Belt Certification through Chyron’s online training program, and a new graphics package including data integration and playout panels is in development.
“This project with Torneos was not about making a sale. It was about listening, consulting and collaborating with the Torneos team to ensure that they could achieve their modernization goals in the way that works best for them, empowering them to cover sports in the vibrant, engaging way for which they are known. Infusing Chyron across their workflow brings added efficiency and cost savings, plus unmatched design consistency,” says Aldo Campisi, Vice President, Latin America, Chyron. “Their success really raises the bar for comprehensive virtual production, in sports coverage. Seeing our technology contribute to such iconic global productions reinforces Chyron’s commitment to innovation and further establishes VSAR as the graphics platform of choice for the industry’s most demanding VS,AR,XR live events.”
