During the keynote address “Deconstructing the Film”, producer Ariel Gordon raised the need to rethink the way films are produced at the 41st FICG

Gordon, founder and designer of the post-production studio Cinema Machine, considered that one of the best strategies he has implemented is the retial areas
He stated that it is not about taking re that film specialists should focus on directing economic and human rere films and short films
“I’m constantly fighting with transportation costs. I feel like a lot goes to gas and transportation, and that’s something you don’t see on screen; and then there’s no money for other processes that you will eventually see and that are part of your narrative,” Gordon said.
The post-production manager added that working from the editing stage on the written script represents an opportunity to save refilmed if they do not contribute significantly to the narrative of the films
He believed that filmmakers should reflect on the films they seek to make and improve the narratives to tell those stories with details and moments that do not always require a flashy production or visual elements that involve an expense in the film’s budget.
“It’s cheaper to delete lines from a script than to end up filming a scene that doesn’t work. Ultimately, I think that Editing teaches us to be forceful “And the challenge is difficult because, on the one hand, we’re going to navigate with emotions to be emotionally calibrating to see if the film works, but on the other hand, it’s about having a critical eye to say yes to this, or no to this,” Gordon emphasized.

On the other hand, regarding sound, he recommended that other filmmakers rethink the use of sound elements such as songs, adding that their use is sometimes focused on scenes, such as the credits, where their narrative may be limited or not fully appreciated by viewers.
